We will be arriving at WL Lodge on Dec. 2nd and want to spend some time at the resort before we go to the MVMCP that evening. Does anyone have the link to WL that list all the activities at the resort? Any information would greatly be appreciated.

I love the WL and many times I just go to relax at the resort and not even go to the parks...........I will also be there the same time as you..........some of my suggestions.......
>relax by the beautiful pool or enjoy the hot tub weather permitting.
>explore all the nooks and crannies of the resort
>walk the nature trail down to Fort Wilderness and the petting zoo, it is paved and through the woods, opportunities to see deer etc.
>rent the watercraft
>rent the bikes.
I too will be doing the MVMCP that evening eating at 1900 Park Fare first.

Sounds great - my 4 year old DD will enjoy the petting zoo and the nature trails, we may even rent the bikes. Do you know anything about a camp fire with Chip and Dale? What time?

The Camping at WDW forum lists the movies and other information about the campfire at FW.

We'll be there too!! We're going from 12/3-12/11-our first trip!! It's a surprise for my 2 DDs (5 & will turn 8 during the trip). It's soooo hard to keep this secret-but I'm determined to do so!:)

Did you get to see the travel channel's special on the WL? It was on last week.

For activities, I've also read about the activity books and list of hidden Mickeys you can get at the front desk.

See you there!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :)

Will be staying on-site (but not at WL). Can my kids also pick up the activity books at the front desk?
First I've heard of them. What are they???????

Any info. would be appreciated.

ChristyJ - I missed the special on the Travel Channel about WL

:confused3

Do you know when it will be back on the Travel Channel?

Again thanks bobbiwoz ChristyJ for all the information:wave2:
We might just cross paths

Have a wonderful trip

I think it would be a hike by foot. We rented a surrey bike last year and rode the trail to the petting zoo at Ft Wilderness. It took about 15 minutes to get there. They also rent individual bikes which would probably get you there a little quicker. Those surrey bikes are harder to ride than you would think! :D

I walk this route every morning when I am at the lodge, I think I read somewhere that it is about a mile, it takes me about a half an hour at a leisurely pace since I am always on the look out for the deer etc. The route is paved and it is shaded.

I would like to know also how far is the petting zoo from WL?

You can take a quick boat ride from WL to FW. The petting zoo is a short walk from the FW boat dock.

The following is from my post on page one of
The NEW WL FAQ (Part 5) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY!

Are tours of Disney's Wilderness Lodge available?
A unique tour, called the "Wonders of the Lodge," is offered to guest on various days beginning at 9:00a.m. This guided tour provides an informative look at the history of Disney's Wilderness Lodge, including its distinctive construction, theming and artwork. Please call the Front Desk for the schedule of the tour days and availability. (Guest should meet in the Lobby of Wilderness Lodge.)
Where can I find a Map of Wilderness Lodge?
Wilderness Lodge area Map

What activities are available at WL for children?
On select days Wilderness lodge has programs for children: Duck Races on Upper Silver Creek, Pool Games, Fireside Storytelling, (Meet in your pajamas at the Mercantile Fireplace) Beach Games, Penny Toss & Duck Rings.
Daily Activities: Open Crafts and Games in Cub's Den (free)
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
*For good rainy day activities, ask for a Kid's activity/coloring book at the bell station or a list of Hidden Mickeys at Guest services. You can also get a list of the resort's music at the Mercantile shop.
Explore the resort:
Indian artifacts, historic paintings, and survey maps are displayed. Follow Silver Creek from it's indoor origin as a Hot Spring and onward outside as a bubbling brook and waterfall, eventually making it's way to Bay Lake.
Flag family:
Ask about becoming a Flag family. Each morning a family is selected to go on the Lodge roof to help raise the flag! This is popular, so inquire at check-in for a better chance.

There is also information on Ft Wilderness Campground in the same post, please visit us over on the WL FAQ.

Have a MAGICAL TRIP.

What about the nooks and crannies of the resort. This has peaked my intrest.

Is the nature trail lit at night? What time does the petting zoo go on and is there a cost?

So you can rent the bikes, how long and are they 2 seaters or what? How much are they to rent?
