Wizarding World of Harry Potter powers Universal Orlando to record results

That's amazing. Can't wait to see what other park improvements and additions we will get now.

so its basically going to pay for itself in just over its first year then? thats pretty incredible. after that its pure profit that they can set asside for phase 2.

How on earth are Disney going to answer that?!?

(maybe they'll have a spare million or two to fix HRRR as well now!? lol)

Awesome! Congrats to Universal! With the work and detail they put into WWOHP, they deserve it! :goodvibes

Fantastic for Universal and I can't wait to see the additions. I do wonder if Disney is taking notice though as the article suggests.

Truly deserved...congrats to UO. :goodvibes

altho...wonderin' about the summer crowd expectations the article mentions for next year. Sounds like they are anticipating the same kind of crowds NEXT summer as they had this summer.

That may not make some peeps happy....know there are quite a few DISers "waiting" for the newness/crowds to wear off before going. Sounds like UO is expecting them peeps to wait even longer? :confused3

Good for Universal!

I don't know if we're typical but I'm plotting a way to get back much sooner than normal. We want some more butterbeer!

I know next summer there is a Harry Potter conference being held at one of the onsite hotels. That will bring huge crowds. i think registration is at almost a thousand people. Plus summer is the busy season.
I was there opening weekend and lived to tell the tale.

Congrats to Universal! I hope they add on now...I need a shreiking shack, gringotts coaster and themed hotel rooms. :wizard: Hmmmm maybe I shouldn't be giving away all my ideas this easily. ;)

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Also, from the article:
Potter, along with a new King Kong attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood in California, also propelled Universal Parks & Resorts to its best-yet quarterly performance, according to executives at parent company General Electric Co.

This is misleading. Kong 360 is part of the tram tour in Hollywood and is not a separate attraction. It is, however, absolutely incredible!

Wow! Those are some huge numbers. I wonder what % is from WWOHP souvenires?:laughing:
