There are already long lines to get into the parking garage at Universal. I wish them success with their new area at Islands of Adventure.

I saw a photo of people camping out overnight at the entrance of IOA. I'm very curious to hear reports from people going during normal theme park hours with normal theme park crowds.

The publicity here in Orlando is crazy. This is going to be crazy for Universal trying to control the crowds for awhile.

I completely lost track of what day it was! Lots of luck to those going today, it's gonna be a madhouse!

The NBC Early Today show was reporting the Opening of "The New Harry Potter Theme Park" is today and promoting that the Today show would be there for the opening this morning.

At least there will be some press there when the riots break out. God help them if they don't open Forbidden Journey until 10:30 am as crowd control.

Why do you believe there will be a riot? Or more than one? I'm kind of doubting the whole riot thing.

I sure wouldn't want to be there, though!

Hope all those who brave the heat and crowds have a great time!!!!!

Already up to a 1000 people waiting to get in at the turnstiles. They were camped out last night on the bridge leading over I4 waiting to get on Universal property this morning.

Either Uni is paying people to make a bigger deal out of this than it is or there are some loony (sorry, very dedicated) HP fans. I'm thinking it is the former.

Even WESH in Orlando is reporting this as a new park:
"Not everyone has had to wait until Friday to visit Universal Orlando's new park. "

I just hope everyone is safe and no one gets hurt today. Large crowds like that make me nervous.

Kathy, love that you are up early to report on this! Are you going today?

I feel sorry for those people that bought the hype and think this area is very large. I have no doubt that many will love this new area of IOA. I just think there are going to be a lot of upset people when they see how small this area is.

I also hope Forbidden Journey is able to stay running.

I really hope it's not that busy when I am planning to visit. But I am actually looking forward to WWoHP more than to Disneyworld :scared1:

I dont think that any of these people are Universal plants. All you had to do was pay attention to the book parties at midnight when a new one was released or how nuts they go when a new HP movie comes out. Universal way underestimated the appetite for HP if this 'area' is as small/compact as it sounds. HP probably could have carried an entire park! Maybe they will do away with Suesse landing and put a quidditch pitch there?

Just saw some shots from the today show, crowd looked crazy big. Hope there not dissappointed!

Oh I did go to the book parties in The Hague (I live nex town). It was fun, and not that crowded at all, since you needed to have tickets to get in.

I'll be there taking live photos...That's if I can get close enough. :)

Be there soon, I hope.

I'd love a picture of the guy who waited in line overnight and then is told he's too fat/tall to ride. You have to know there will e a few of those incidences.

As for me, I'll wait a year or two until everyone realizes that the "theme park" is just one new ride in size plus some themes souvenir stands.

If the opening of WWOHP coincided with my holiday/vacation then i'd go just because its unlikely i'll be there for a couple of years .... and I could say "I was there on the first opening day and it was crazy" .... however i'm not and i'm glad it will be a few years yet until I go so that crowds can die down and they possibly would have added on to what they have today:thumbsup2

Wish there was a webcam you could watch because that would be cool :o) (i'm easily pleased ha ha)

The opening is all over the news in the UK (well, websites/radio station I go on and listen to anyway)
