Wizarding World of Harry Potter opens today

Mugglenet is tweeting that if you are in the line by Toon Lagoon the wait to get in from there is 4-6 hours!

It's currently 85 in Orlando, going up to 94. I hope those people are well hydrated.

My feed crashed just before the curtain fell just my luck (its not like there will be hundreds of YouTube vids by the end of today!)

Irrespective of whether these first few people find WWoHP a let down or not, it is still cool to be there purely for the atmosphere (and i'm no HP fanatic) - but that just my opinion

Im not jealous of the heat these people had to stand around in though!

It cracked me up when Daniel Radcliffe said there is "No Rush to get in" and to "Tke Your Time". I have a feeling the fans have a different opinion!

Daniel Radcliffe seemed really nervous during this on-the-spot interview. It's so strange to see him without glasses - it changes his look. He can probably walk past casual fans without being recognized.

I have to agree, that was a boring rope drop...especially for a Grand Opening!

I know they are movie stars and everything, but Universal couldnt get the cast to come out in costume for the rope drop? Wouldn't it have been cool if they were all "in character?" There may be a reason they couldn't be, but seeing them out there in jeans and t-shirts was kinda weird. Throw a Hogwarts robe on! Harry put on your glasses!

OH WOW ...... (she says sarcastically). I just watched the replay and they could have made it such a bigger and better opening!!!! But then are we surprised with Universal exec's nowdays ..... Pete is right, they are not the right people for the job .... so disappointing!

The show needed to be short and to the point but this was sad. The lighting of the fireworks was lame and could have been improved greatly. The fireworks looked pathetic as well. Maybe they were better in person. But it just looked like what happens at MK at RD. This was a grand opening of a much anticipated attraction. There should have been a bit more pizazz.

Its not like this is the first time someone has had an grand opening...

Even WESH in Orlando is reporting this as a new park:
"Not everyone has had to wait until Friday to visit Universal Orlando's new park. "

I just hope everyone is safe and no one gets hurt today. Large crowds like that make me nervous.

Someone just tweeted that he is stuck in line on the bridge by Jurassic park and security is going by telling everyone HP World is closed to capacity now.

God help them if that's true. If you can't handle opening day crowds, then they shouldn't have hyped the area to the extent that they did. Universal will have tons of angry customers on their hands, never to return, and have no one to blame but themselves for advertizing this as a new "theme park".

Wow, closed to capacity- crazy! But not that unexpected from what I have heard.

My cousin is going tomorrow. This is their very first trip to Orlando...I don't think they even realized it was the day after the opening of Harry Potter . I tried to let he know that they would be in for quite an interesting day!
