Non-Disney Online Games (Wizard 101) Quest Tips & Help Thread!

I finally got myself to Marleybone with the help of lots of people to beat Krokopatra.

Now, I'm just getting a bunch of different quests, but I haven't started any battles (other than picking off a bunch of hapless fire elves in Firecat Alley). I also had a LOT of coinage sitting in my pocket, so I bought a brand spanking new wand and spell deck so far.

I find it difficult to figure out what cards to "pack", and I rarely go into my treasure cards. I have a neat new Guidance spell I can use to increase my own (and my friends!) target levels 10%. You never see what it does, but I think it's supposed to reduce the fizzle percentages.

I feel like I'm the person who failed the 3rd grade twice, as I'm a Level 27 wizard there. And since I had a lot of issues logging in, the reset I did made it impossible for me to visit any area without a "wait young wizard" warning. And I found a new badge "Master Diplomat". I like it so much, I think I'll wear it next time I'm in the game. :)

OMIGOSH!!!!!!

Goldengourd and I were *THIS* close to beating the Grubb!!!!

We completed all the battles leading up to the final battle with Grubb... I left to get some mana and G didn't know i had left and followed me and we were both out of the game which means the entire game resets!!!!

ARRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!

Hmmm.... I might be wrong on this... it looks like, maybe, we can go straight to Grubb.... just can't find anyone to join in right now.

edit: Yep!! Can go straight to Grubb to finish the battle off!! Woot!! (wish we could say that on Wiz101). Thanks to Padric and the two others that assisted!! (sorry I can't remember your names)

Gouldengourd, just holler if you want me to join you!!!!

Woot, glad to hear this, you two must have been dying over that!

Well...congrats, Briar, for reaching Marleybone, however are you saying that if and when I reach the same area at something other than level 27 there's something wrong with me? Because I rather found your comment a bit offensive to those of us not having such an easy breeze of a time getting there. I am still on Krokotopia. I don't feel as though I failed anything, just that I'm enjoying the game and my friends.
As far as waiting for the game to load areas you've not yet been to, that's happening to us all.
The "Master Diplomat" badge, which I've now learned is the only one I had been missing from the first page of badges, has also been the badge I've chosen to wear. Woot!

Actually when I got there I was level 25 or something like that LOL. But now i'm to level 31 and I'm finding out that it is 10 times more hard to level up when you are at level 30 and up.

I'm to the point where I have the quest "To Sunken City" - Find Grubb - Collect Item of Proof. Is Grubb in the tower or is there a progression of battles I have to go through? Also, is it possible to actually get to the tower without being thrown into a battle. I swear I'm 'on the sidewalk' but still get pulled into a battle with 3 of those meanies just as I get to the tower. I just wanted to get in there and see what I'm up against.

Soooo, if anyone else is trying the same quest I'll be happy to join in and would welcome the help myself.

I've been all through the Iron Works in Marleybone. Does anyone know where the blasted Iron Works cat is located? Thanks.

I have sad news everyone @_@

Unicorn city is no longer safe...

Alas... I have decided to become THE undead stalker

:rotfl:

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is the cat is right in the doorway after you defeat the last boss in the Iron Works.

The Bad news is if you have left the area you will probably have to restart all the missions over again since this is how it works in the Iron Works. You can only get the cat after you defeat the last boss.

I had the same problem too. I did manage to get to the tower a couple of times out of many tries, but three rank 3 elite banshees were a little much for my (at the time) level 14 storm wizard. After reading posts about the difficulty of this area, I finally decided to leave it until I'm at a much higher level.

According to their forum, the problem with being pulled into the street should have been improved with the latest update; not sure if there's really been a change.

Yesterday, when trying to get back to the tower to fight Grubb, the first time I was VERY VERY careful and made it to the tower without getting pulled into a street fight. The next two times I think I got a little careless and was pulled in (and chose to flee) and the fourth time I proceeded with a little more caution and made it back to Grubb again without a fight.

The rule of thumb that seemed to work for me was, if I saw a bad guy walking towards me, anywhere close to the sidewalk, I would stand still and let him pass before I proceeded.

Fortunately, our Padraic came to help me out with Pops and showed me the cat. Many thanks for all the help.

Sorry I missed you this morning, was helping out Padric and Flying Pegasus. And, one of the kids on my list had jumped in to 'help' (annoy some;)) so the last place was filled up.:) Believe me, we wished you had been the one in his place! lol I hate it when these kids have limited chat only and WON't listen to what you are trying to tell them! lol Ok rant over...lol I keep having to take these kids off of my list.;)

Looking forward to catching you somewhere else.

Anyone else getting tons of pips but then no cards to use? I sent them a bug message.

I would think by now you'd know me better than that, Mims. I wouldn't say something that would come across offensive. I guess I need to clarify my first statement because I would do the "talk to this person then this person" quests and finally start going into battles, where I would get item rewards for Level 20+ (and not Level 25+, at least not right away). It was because I was 7 levels higher that made me feel that way.

And I'm not having a breeze of a time by any stretch. I will often ask friends who I know who have already been through Marleybone to help me attack some bosses. Just like you helped me with the Olde Town bullies! I'm willing to jump in and help if needed.

Oh, about those badges, I seem to be missing some. I have a blank badge area on the front page. I think that might be Wizard City Protector, because I don't have it and don't know why.

I didn't even know I could go to page 13 and find badges I never knew I had! Looks like I have to kill more spiders, "giants" (?) and "elementals" (???) to get a badge level. And those Golems in the tower? If you continue to kill them, I think there's another badge to earn.

I discovered the "kill this many somethings" with the Undead (not completed yet for me), the Gobblers, and the Kroks.

Yup! That was my entire weekend! Just thought it was me. :lmao:
I began to wonder if I had upgraded my clothes too much.;)

I was getting lots of power pips but I wasnt having a problem with my cards

I figured the power pips were to much coincidence to be luck :)

I wasn't having a problem with the pips and the cards but I was with the potion bottle. I started a new wizard - a death/myth - that I am having a lot of fun with. My other wizard is Life/storm. I only have one potion bottle for the death/myth wizard. I would play games to fill it and then when I needed it in battle, it would be empty!
