I have read many posts over my planning months, but this is my first post so please bear with me! We are so excited to be checking in at POR 04/14/2013.

Situation 1: Need to get from POR to ADR 09:30A Cindy on 04/15/2013. What would be the best way to get there? I will have personal vehicle, could take a taxi, or take the first bus at 08:00. If I take a bus, will the bus be marked for MK?

Situation 2: Need to get from POR to ADR 09:30A Chef Mickey 04/16/2013. What would be the best way to get there? If we take the bus, what would be the bus/route we take to the Contemporary?

Thank you very much for any input/advice/experiences!!:goodvibes

Welcome!

I would take the bus to MK for both ADR's. All buses are clearly marked so don't worry...you won't get on the wrong bus!

For your ADr at CM's you can just walk to the Contemporary. It's not far!

Welcome to the DIS boards...great to see you posting.
The buses will be up and running by 6:30am every morning!!! Most guidebooks say an hour prior to park opening but that's not true.
Anyway...to get to CRT for a 9:30, be out at the bus stop by 8:30. The bus will say Magic Kingdom on the front sign. A 9:30am ADR isn't early at all..no need to even think about alternative transportation.
To get to CM's for 9:30, same thing, same timing. When you get off the bus.....walk, with the crowd away from the bus stops. When you get to the 'top' of the driveway, go right. There will be a walkway, beneath the monorail rail. Take this all the way to the CR. You will have to cross a street, but there is a pedestrian button to stop traffic..use it!! It takes about 8 mins to make that walk. You could take the monorail but you have to walk in the opposite direction, wait for the monorail to come, load and then get to CR.

Wow! Extremely quick responses and very informative! Thank you so much. You have really eased my mind about getting us to our ADRs on time! I will be posting all my last minute questions on the DISboards. Wish I had done so sooner. Thanks again.

taking the MK bus is the best option because it drops you off at the front gate at the MK. If you drive you have to park at the TTC then take the monorail over to MK.

The bus will have Magic Kingdom on the front of it rather than the intials MK. There is a lighted sign on the top front of the bus that tells where the bus is going.

Also if you take the monorail to CM you will have to go through bag check at MK to access the monorail. So walking is faster and easier.

Everything provided is correct, however...you shouldn't have to go through bag check to get to the monorail. I don't remember this being the case at all. But since I would also recommend walking instead of going to the monorail, this is irrelevant.

Bag check is not required for monorail travel, just to enter MK... Monorail ramps ( entrance ) outside bag check!
