DH had been to WDW as a child but I'd never been. We got married in 2010 in America and one of the places we visited in California was DL.
I can only say - as predicted - my first taste of Disney parks was a success so we went to WDW as a part of our hol in May this year and we were there 11-25th May. We normally go for very cheap hotels or hostels but with free dining I pursuaded myself it was worth staying on site at CSR.

I'd be back tomorrow! Saving in time for the first part of next year would be a stretch and I'll avoid the summer holiday time like the plague thank you very much!:rotfl: (no kids!) so it will be early October so that way we'll be there for food and wine festival and Halloween too and not summer time mad busy! I'm desparate to stay on site again but I can only justify the cost if I get free dining so fingers crossed! I'll prob stay at CSR again as we absolutely loved it and it was great for us as an adults only holiday.
Then with hotel , tickets and food booked we can get flights probably early next year.

I'd love to hire a car :drive:but I'm learning now and dont think I'll pass by October and you need a minimum 1 year on your license - DH doesnt drive either.

I know a few other people are eagerly awaiting free dining - til then, fingers crossed

Perfect time of year to go.... October (as well as beginning of May) are my most favourite times of year to go for the reasons you listed.

Fingers crossed for you

As Sam says, October is a great time to visit WDW. I always like to have a trip 'in hand' and am constantly planning my next trip, even when I don't have one booked.

I am planning multiple trips just now, we go on Wednesday for 24 nights then Oct 31st for 10 nights, first time without our son who will start Uni in Oct. Just booked hotel this evening. Also looking for flights for next Easter, that will be 14-16 nights.
Can't beat having a trip to look forward to.:goodvibes

Welcome to the addicts club..its members are increasing rapidly:)

Like you we also can only do this holiday once a year given the amt of money and the holidays we can take.
Oct/Nov is our fav time of the year for various reasons. We also avoid any school hols and try to avoid the ones in USA as well.

Thankyou! I wish we could go away more but a big holiday each year is not to be sniffed at, we dont have a car or kids at the moment which certainly helps. We would like children in a few years and no doubt we will need to cut back a lot then so im cramming in what i can now! Id like to go to Norway early next year too but i havent planned anything properly yet. 14 full months of anticipation is too much!!!
