I've severly cut back on my sugar and carb intake...man I felt like I was hit by a truck today....I actually took a nap...I hope this withdrawl passes soon......No headache though I guess it could be worse....

But over all my eating has been more consistant and lower in calories...I've only managed to exercise once this week because I've felt so horrible....hopefully next week I will be able to work out...

I am sure it will pass! There are some weeks that I feel like that....but you can do it! Try not to deprive yourself of things....it only makes it harder!
Good luck!

This will definitely pass. My husband went through this his first 4 days on Atkins but by the end of the 4th day he was feeling great. So great that he commented on it after going to the gym.

You can do this, Kim. Hang in there, don't worry about working out until this malaise passes, it should pass soon.

I went through the same thing for 3 days last week when I started Atkins. I'm so glad that's over with! Your lucky you didn't get a headache, then you don't feel like doing anything.
Just keep thinking results and you'll feel more energetic before you know it:D

Unfortuneately I need to deprive because I'm such an addict. The amount of sugar and carbs that I used to eat in any one day was unbelieveable......I'm sure once I break the cravings, I probably would be able to reintroduce some sweets and carbs...but I've tried just cutting back a little and I just don't have the will power then...

I hope you feel better soon! When I cut back on sugar, I was craving all sorts of sweets!!! Stuff I never thought about before. I don't recall feeling bad though, but I still eat a good amount of carbs per day. Good luck!!!! Stick with it!! :) Power naps are good things!!! :)

Those following Atkins induction (which is severly cutting carbs and nearly all sugar) usually feel like absolute crud the first 3-5 days... it really IS breaking an addiction.

It's so common, it's called the induction flu. ;)

It should get better once you've got it out of your system, and you're not putting it back it... your energy should even out (if not increase), because you won't be getting those blood sugar spikes.

I had TERRIBLE withdrawal -- felt very flu like for most of the first week. Worst part is I got off track after the holidays and had to go thru it all over again --- think I would have learned the first time!

Keep up the good work!

The yucky feelings will be over before you know it.

It just shows you how much sugar you were actually eating, and you probably didn't even know it! I started withdrawl on my second day and it lasted about 2 days. But, after that my energy came back full force and now I feel great! It's so good to get all that junk out of your system! Keep it up! :)

I can only second what everyone else has said, It will pass!!! I felt absolutely horrible during the first few days of induction.

Now, I feel great.......aside from a minor slip up last weekend at IOA (had to have that margarita and sample some dessert of my DD's)......I am back to feeling great.

Keep it up, the worst is over and the results will be there soon.
