With VGF bookings opening for this fall what are the chances ...

1) since they are just starting to sell VGF what is the chance that non VGF owners will be able to score a studio in mid November at the 4 month window
2) that existing owners who buy at VGF will move their previously booked stays to VGF thereby opening up rooms at other resorts?

I have a split stay (BWV/BLT) coming up Nov 16-23 and I am wait listed for BLT SV 1BR for Nov 23. Wondering if the opening of VGF will help my chances of getting that wait list to come through, or even if it will be possible to change from BLT 1 BR to GF studio

Other questions:
3) Does anyone know the room sizes at VGF? I am intrigued by the 5 person occupancy limit in Studio.
4) Does anyone think they will let 5 in a studio when they build the Polynesian DVC?

Sorry everyone if the formatting I previous post is unreadable.

That's what I get for carelessly using cut/paste on my phone and then failing to edit

1) the 4 month window would be July for November. I doubt they've sold even 50% of the points by then. So I would think inventory would be high. You'll be competing with everyone else trying to get a room there, rather than the VGF owners.
2) I am currently on the phone with MS switching my 11/21 night from BLT to VGF (studio). Definitely not giving up my BCV rooms for the rest of the trip!

I am hoping for a 1 bedroom, any view, for mid nov too. Currently in a 1 bed at BLT

You have to remember that not all rooms will be declared and available for booking.

I was going to ask that. I would assume they would declare enough as points are sold, therefore limiting bunches of empty rooms. It will be worth a shot when the four month mark rolls around just to see how tight it is. Are points charts listed yet?

We had BCV booked for Nov. 16-23. Just purchased 125 VGF pts this morning, booked a studio at VGF for the November week this afternoon. Cancelled our BCV for that week so it should have opened up our studio.

They need to have points declared before they can sell them. They will declare as many and as often as necessary to keep ahead of sales. If sales go faster than expected, we'll see prices increases.

Historically, the easiest time to get rooms at a brand new resort is during the active sales period - there are generally more rooms in the DVC inventory than the sold points represent (so that the sales group doesn't need to stop selling waiting for more points to be declared. That's a bureaucratic legal process that takes some time). Waitlists often work - as more points get declared, more rooms become available to members.

VGF Point charts are on the Members' Website, DVC News and Daddio has updated the calculator on his site.

I could well be wrong but i can't imagine people splurging on VGF points to stay somewhere else so i'm expecting it to be pretty booked by owners.

I agree, most buyers are booking at VGF as soon as their contract is added to their account. Many want to be there for the opening celebration.

Honestly? I can't believe many people who booked standard view at BLT will be lining up to switch to VGF. It's quite a leap in points.

Not saying we'll do it all the time, but want to be there for the new car smell. We switched yesterday.
