...do annual passholders still get discounts on tickets for guests at the gate?

When we last visited in December of 2008, our passholder friend got us two day park-to-park tickets at 50% off, for about $60 apiece, I believe.

Any type of discounts like that these days?

You can still get AP discounts off tickets but they must be purchased at the gate. The 50% discount is not running right now...that's only during the slower periods and summer isn't slow. The normal discount is 10% off one day park tickets and 15% off the multi-day tickets. You can purchase up to six tickets per day at the discounted rate.

Do those multi-day tickets have to be used when purchased? I'm going in July and buying an AP, can I purchase multi-day tickets at the discounted price for my family that is going next summer?

They have to be used that day.

Thank you, Metro.

We will be going mid-September, because it is supposed to be a down time at Disney, so hopefully that translates into more savings at the Universal gate. Even so, 10-15% is a good chunk and makes it worthwhile to wait until we are at the gate, rather than buying ahead of time.

One more question, if you please...If we purchase a one or two day ticket, but decide that we had not had enough of the attractions, can we upgrade it to a second or third day for the difference in price, like it is done at WDW?

Yes...you can upgrade the tickets.
