With the 4/3 deal and staying 9 nights...

Does it make more sense to only book 7 nights with the 4/3 deal and then add 2 nights as room only with the late fall special (28% off on room only)??

I just booked 9 nights using the 4/3 special (therefore paying full price for 5 of those nights) but realized after I got off the phone that I could have booked the last 2 nights as room only and saved some money.

Has anyone done this? How much of a pain is it to have to check ou/in for the room only nights? Do you usually end up with the same room? We booked the Poly. Thanks!

We do this all the time.

You are warned at check in that you could be asked to change rooms, in reality we never have been. Make sure they link the two ressies together from the begining.

You do have to stop by the check in desk and get new KTTW, but that is pretty quick if you do it early in the day.
