With so many restaurant choices.......

A few things that I keep in mind are: where we plan to be each day, what type of meals we enjoy, whether it be buffets, counter service or sit-down, do we want to dine with the characters and which ones, and our food budget. We also have a first night tradition Chef Mickey's.

Because there are so many different opinions and reviews, what we have done over the years, is just try a new restaurant every year. We also go back to our favorite ones! :teeth:

You've done your reading, just pick some that appeals to you,.... and enjoy!

We always return to a few favorites each visit, but then I always try a new one each time. Hard to pick, I just work my way thru them. Location and timing matters to me most, especially during the day, if we are at the parks, etc....

Have do i pick between restaurants is look at the menus and totaly elimate which restaurant foods that I do like. I am a picky eater and only like American food it's easy pick restaurant .

I make a list of all that I want to try. I then decide how many meals I will be eating. If I want to try 20 and only and eating 12 then I start ellimanating. I do that by picking the parks I will be in if I want to eat at 5 places in Epcot and only will be there for 2 then I have to get rid of three. I take the 5 and decide where I really want to go. Because there are so many wonderful choices I make my itenary and then chose the restaurant close to where I will be. I also read most of the reviewes on this board to help narrow the choices. ::MinnieMo

I scan the menus on AllEars and go by what interests me. People are so organized on these boards with PS's and all. I'm just not that organized, so what I do is keep restaurants I like in mind, and then go them as the notion strikes me and the restaurant's available.

It is one of the hardest decisions for me!

I always say "this trip I am not going to Cali Grill, I'm going to try new places". Then I end up saying "well if I add X as my new place I can still go to CG on X day"! I try so hard to broaden my scope but DH is not as flexible and likes to stick with what he knows. I usually plan our parks and dining to coordinate. If we are going to have an early park day we do a Resort dinner. If we are going to be at Epcot we do a world dinner.

If I go with people who have not been to CG I feel it is my duty to share with them the wonderful experience that is CG. Oh yes, O'hana too!

Our next trip we will have the kiddos with us and I can not see them enjoying CG. Also, my kids tend to get a little crazy so I personally do not want to expose other dinners paying a nice chunk of change to my kids screaming! Its a good opportunity to try Boma, Cinderella's breakfast, and other places more kid enjoyable. I'm really excited to try Boma.

My parents will be with us too hopefully and they aren't exactly gourmet dinners and would probably faint at the prices at CG. Anyone who has not tried CG please don't let that keep you away, my parents are very budget minded and do not go to fancy places.

I am glad to hear that someone else just can't give up CA Grill! We go every year and every year I say we are going to skip it, but some how it ends up on the itinerary. DH doesn't mind as he loves it too. We take DS. They are great with kids. They have a kiddie sushi roll for dessert - rice crispie roll wrapped in fruit roll up sliced up and served with gummie fish.

I too plan meals around park hours and EMH days. We have some favorites, and try a few new eateries each year. The number of favorites keeps growing. The narrowing down is the killer. Too many choices, never enough time! princess: pirate: :earboy2:

We usually narrow it down as to what types of food we enjoy, where we will be on any given day and then we choose one character meal.
