Do you think they are expecting it to be more crowded???

I wasn't expecting the parks to be open so late which is nice but does this mean they are expecting more crowds???? OK I will stop saying expected.....NOW.....

I'm thinking they are looking at last Sept. We've been to WDW the last 3 years in Sept. Last year was very crowded during our stay (at least in all the parts I went to). The prior 2 years, the crowd were lighter (normal Sept.)

I think too, they look at the occupancy rates of their resorts. If they are higher than average, they'll add more time.

I'm thrilled! Wishes is scheduled for every night we are there! Last Sept, it only played once. We'll get to see it from our room or the concierge lounge at the CR (14th floor). The view should be amazing!

The extended hours in Sept. is because of only one thing, and that's because their intent is to show Wishes every night at park closing, and it has to be dark in order to do that. In Sept., as it was last May, it doesn't get dark until after 7:30 pm, so you are finding the park staying open until 8 to 8:30 pm every night, not just on Saturday nights, which has been the case historically.

Wishes is the fireworks display in MK. We just saw them for the first time and they were great! There is a narration from Jimmeny Cricket and the fireworks go off around the castle and there are some light displays on the castle.
It really is beautiful, I went back to the MK a second night just to see Wishes

Can anyone tell me where the Sept 2004 hours are posted? I am looking for Parade and Fireworks schedules as well as park hours.

Thanks in advance.

nicksmom - you can get the official hours at www.disneyworld.com

I agree with JamesD, we are getting later hours because of Wishes and I am perfectly happy with that!

Hi,

Of course we are going to visit WDW in Sept. the 9th-12th, which have the shortest time of the whole month...we will probably have the park to ourselves. We are going back in Dec...for MVMCP so we can hopefully see Wishes then.:p

You are going during the Nights of Joy, that is why the park is closing early. The Nights of Joy go from 7:30 to 12:30. You might find that the MK may be crowded as the day progresses.
