With Hotwire, S/D resort rate?

I posted this on the Swan/Dolphin thread, but just in case it gets lost in the 100 pages of messages I thought I'd post here too.

I'm looking at getting my flight and a Dolphin room off of Hotwire. (Since I'm getting my flight too, I KNOW it's the Dolphin). Hotwire says, "Taxes and fees included." But does anyone know if that includes the dreaded $10/day resort fee??

Also, I seem to remember last year, the S/D had a special that ran July 5 to end of August. Anyone remember what it was or if they are having another one this year?

FYI: The Hotwire price is $377 per person from Kansas City to Orlando (flight and Dolphin room) for 4 nights. I've been having a terrible time finding a cheaper flight!

Hi!

No it does not. I was going to bid on the Swan on Hotwire a few months back and saw some info posted on the this. I understand from previous threads that you have to pay it when you get there.

Just wanted to let you know.. if you go to www.travelocity.com and click on flexible dates, and put in your cities the rate i got back was 189.00 a person.. however, there are days blocked out.. but, if you're flexible on the dates it may work out for you..

How do you do this? I love the Dolphin and would love to plan a trip in the future. I am also trying to find a decent rate for my sister in December.Thank you

Thanks for looking, copper68.
I went to Travelocity and the $189 rate was for the FLIGHT ONLY. The $377 per person rate I found was for the Flight AND the Dolphin room. You do have to pay the person rate for the room. On travelocity the rate for us would be $20 less, but I'm tempted to stick with Hotwire, just because I know people have not had problems booking the Dolphin thruugh this service.

As for other questions, I know I'm getting the Dolphin on Hotwire because I am booking the flight AND the room as a package. They tell you what hotel you have when you do this. I'm not getting the same icons on hotel only as show up with the flight (hope this make sense). :bounce: :jumping2:

I think that is an excellent price...if the flight is $189 per person at best and you are paying $377/pp for 4 nights for air and hotel... you are only paying $94 per night for the room, tax included (assuming 2 people in the room)!! I think that is a great price...the best rate I have ever seen there was $98/night and that was before tax (11.5%)....so I would go for it unless you happen upon really cheap airfare somewhere!!

We also booked a few nights at the Dolphin through Hotwire. We are staying there for 2 nights prior to our visit at the YC.

When you are booking room only, you won't see what resort it is until you commit with a credit card. By looking at certain websites, like betterbidding.com, you can make an educated guess.

We booked back in February for our July dates, and got the Dolphin for $92 a night. Look for the following clues when you go to Hotwire:
1. Only pick the Walt Disney Area on the page with the map
2. It will be a 4 Star Hotel
3. The icons should line up like this: restaurant, swimming, health club, computer, golf, tennis, laundry

If you see a resort in the Walt Disney Area, with 4 stars and those 7 icons lined up in that order, it's a pretty good likelyhood that the resort is the Dolphin.

If you don't see the resort, keep trying, as the rates and the resorts sometimes change daily or even several times a day.
Good Luck!:cloud9:
