I just learned that I'm going to be a dad! My wife went to the doctor today for a routine exam, and lo and behold, SHE"S PREGNANT! We should be having a baby next April. She told me I can't tell anybody yet, so I figured I used the anonymity of the DIS board to let out my excitement!

I forgot to mention:

We've been trying for a couple of years now, and I was actually starting to give up hope we'd ever get pregnant. We even met with an adoption counselor from our church last week to initiate adoption proceedings for a child. I hope this doesn't sound too cheesy, but we decided to fast and pray about it on the first Sunday of last month, and then again yesterday. I feel like a prayer has been answered.

I'm so happy that I gave my employees the afternoon off, and DW and I are going off to celebrate with a (yikes!) shopping trip (I promised her a glider once she was pregnant, and she's already collecting). My wallet is already starting to burn!

Congrats! Going to the adoption councelor probably did it. We have three pregnancies in our family, mine and Amy's included, that came within two months of considering adoption.

It's pretty neat, eh?
