With all the changes at AK, is Tree of Life garden still intact?

It's been a while since we've been to WDW and are looking forward to seeing all of the changes at AK. I'm wondering, though, if the pretty garden areas around the Tree of Life are still intact and available to walk around in and take photos?

The tree of life is still intact. There is actually a show involved around it.

Thanks, yes, I know the tree is still there. What I was wondering is if there's been any change to the area surrounding it that has (had?) the paths and the little bridge, etc.

you know, good question and I didn't look. They had some construction walls up because they were doing the works around it but never blocked it from view.. Did anyone else happen to wander up? I know the back side with how you get in and out of bugs life show is still the same.

I'm no help answer, OP, but glad to see your question: gardening is my main hobby, and I had no idea there was a garden area around the TOL. (Looking forward to seeing it next trip - and, having something to look forward to that doesn't require advance reservations/FP!)

The area in front of the tree of life has changed. It used to be home to different animals in a stream, but is now the roots of the tree with more animals carvings. It is also home to a really cool show with birds. The are now working on the area behind the tree. It was blocked off last week, and you can see reshaping of the grounds. Not sure what is happening there. The areas along both side still are similar to what they have been in the past. We always enjoy walking through all the areas, and sometimes just watching for 15 minutes as the animals just live their life.

OT-That really cool bird show was such a wonderful surprise to me this past February. Just as we were walking in and starting our day there I saw what looked like a flying rainbow-they were so beautiful! I LOVE birds of all kinds-I have an African Grey parrot myself(actually he has me,lol)-so it was just complete magic for me to see those parrots flying!

I was there this past Friday and Saturday afternoon/night and the garden entrance as you walk from Discovery Island to Africa was closed both days. Not sure if I was just there at the wrong time or if the area is closed all day long.

I appreciate the replies! It sounds like it is definitely still a work in progress. I spoke with my brother, whose company has been doing the Avatar area and built the Rivers of Light set-up, and he said they didn't do anything around the Tree, but that it was very possible another company was in charge of changes to that area. It's interesting to me that Disney is doing such extensive work that they've had to hire more than one construction firm to handle the jobs. It's got to be hard trying to coordinate all of that.
