With All The Changes: Anyone Else Thinking of Cancelling?

no, we're not cancelling any plans. we expected a price hike sometime anyway, and actually we could choose to make it cheaper than before if we don't pick the hopping and no expiration options. we'll just choose wisely and enjoy our vacation. for us, disney is too wonderful to cancel over these changes.

This package is cheaper and works best for me. I will not turn away and like another poster said Hurricane Jeanne didn't even scare me away.

I had a Gold Plan vacation booked before the new packages went into effect. I can't find much about the new Premium Package either (wondering whether to switch). I do have a great Travel Agent who is helping me sort through the options to see what is best. I'm going to have to learn about all of the new (and to me confusing) options because I want to go In Dec 2006 with my Mom to enjoy the Christmas decorations. Good Luck with your planning and maybe a travel agent could be very helpful to you, they keep track of discounts, charge not a penny more than Disney does if you book with them directly,& they'll make your PS for you.

Someone is getting very rich off of those "package deals" . You could do SO much better on your own with just a little effort.

Saving us money too! And not only saving us money, but forcing us to go back again for another five day trip.....the TRAGEDY! LOL Im my opinion, the 10 day MYW no expiration tickets are the best deal around for families that take a once a year trip or even two trips a year. ten days for that price! you can't beat it. Way better than two five day tickets! I am very happy with the tickets although I don't book packages or dining etc. We learned after the first visit that booking things separate is so much cheaper and much more flexible. For those of us who book things separate, its a mucho good deal. Why not try to break whatever vacation you were planning down with hotel, tickets, and dining separate. You might be able to save money in the long run. No one believes me when I tell them how I can go on vacation for a week every year to Disney on the money that we make but I do. LOL And its all because of the specials I read about on here and booking everything separate.

I just went to the official site for you. Put in the 7 night package at PO-FQ standard view. 1st I added the 7 night tick w/ hopper and 5 plus options which came to 1653.46 total package, excl tax. I did not include the no expiration feature, but that is also available.

Then I put in the 7 night package at PO-FQ standard view adding the 7 night tick and 5 plus options with the Meal Plan that would include one snack, one counter service and one sit down meal per day and that came to $2218 total package excl tax, not including the no expiration feature.

Lastly I put in the MYW Premium package at PO-FQ standard view which includes the 7 nights tic w/ hopper, 5 plus options, free use of selected recreation, breakfast, lunch and dinner at WDW, admission to Cirque du Soleil (normally costing 62-90 dollars per person) and it was $3674 total package, not including the no expiration feature.

Also, didn't know if you were aware. When you go to PI and pay for the 1st night at $16.99 per person, you can add on 5 more visits for $5 more dollars (have to be used consecutively. So, if you add that to the above packages, they would be, in order listed above:
$1676
$2231
$3697

The dates I used were Oct 11 through Oct 18, 2005, which are regular season to base your prices.

I found the site very user friendly and the options described very well.

Just visit http://wdw.reservations.disney.go.com and get started. Compare options, resorts and time frames and see what is best for you.

Hope you enjoy your stay!:)

First...I think that the new ticket prices are much harder to understand so I keep hoping that the cliff notes version will be out soon  but that being said...

It will take a lot more than that to scare me off of wdw. One of the biggest joys I get in life (I know, I need a real life) is finding top price lodging, transportation and entertainment at Disney for rock bottom prices. I must be getting good because I have people calling me for friends to help them get great prices. In a nutshell, I love the magic too much to ever quit.

Eeyore -

Can you explain more about this:'

"Also, didn't know if you were aware. When you go to PI and pay for the 1st night at $16.99 per person, you can add on 5 more visits for $5 more dollars (have to be used consecutively"

We have two 21 year olds coming with us and they are very interested in PI .

Thanks

Kelly
