Disneyland sucks. I have never seen such disorganization in my life. From wrong info given. Like where to go for World of Color dining spots. Asked 10 cms got 10 different answers. Ride breakdowns from splash to indy to pirates and rapids. What joke. I know people will be upset about this but Disneyworld is 100 times better. At least Hojos has been great. I have other things that happened that I will post at a later time. Oh Big thunder has broken down at least once everyday. I don't want to hear these things happen. They shouldn't. Not as many times as they have. Not at the price people pay.

Sorry to hear that. I was there a few days ago and there were a few rides down temporarily throughout the day, but since I'm an AP holder, I can come back and ride them another time. I'm sure if I didn't have that luxury, I'd be extremely disappointed.

I will say Disney gets put in a tough spot with this one. Guests complain when rides break down, but guests also complain when rides close for routine maintenance that aims to prevent breakdowns.

You weren't going to enjoy it from the get go. Seems more like a self-fullfilling prophecy to me. It wasn't meant to be for you.

That's not true. U have 2 little ones. To trek across the park with them to find ride is closed is a real disaster because its not easy to get back later in the day.

So how did you arrive at this brilliant conclusion? Is it because Tino isn't enjoying Disneyland and you are just dismissing this as a "self-fullfilling prophecy" because you refuse to believe that any normal person could have a bad day a Disney? You do realize that there are actually individuals in this world who may not agree with every one of your personal likes, right? :sad2:

For Tino, sorry that you are not enjoying your stay and I hope that things improve over the next few days.

Peace,

TC.

I'm sorry so many things seemed to have gone wrong. We have 4 littles & understand the frustration after heading to our favorite ride, only to find it closed temporarily. Keep in mind, it's not always break downs that shut a ride down. They will shut down if there's a medical emergency, someone got sick or something got dropped that could cause a hazard. California Screamin shut down when a backpack was dropped this week. So it's not always a mechanical thing.

There are so many other things to enjoy at the park that we just move on to the next thing.

As for WoC......I agree.....the CM's do tend to contradict themselves at times. Now that we've gone a few times....we know where to go but our first time was crazy.....going from line to line, being led into the wrong section, etc. but it finally worked out & we got to watch a fabulous show.

I've never been to WDW so I can't make comparisons, but I do ask people experiencing our little park to keep an open mind. We like the quaintness & the smaller scale. We enjoy being able to park hop in minutes or head to DTD.

We had one trip during spring break by the 4th day I was ready to call it quits.......the crowds were huge & rude, we kept missing characters by minutes, ride lines were nuts, etc. but one CM turned our entire trip around by showing our then 3 yr old true Disney magic......everything else didn't matter after seeing her face getting one on one time with Minnie.

No, hon, I simply read his previous reports about how everything was wrong from get go, beginning with the Matterhorn!

I'm sorry that you are having not such a magical time there now. It is a bummer to find a ride closed with little ones, but I think everything is harder with little ones.

Do you still have three days left in the park? Or are you doing something else?

If you have more time in the park I'd start looking at maps and having a plan B in place just so you aren't schlepping across the park to find Pirates closed with no back up. Back up would be Jungle Cruise along with Tarzan & then Tiki Room with a Dole Whip just for good measure. Or you could go Haunted Mansion and then Pooh, my guys loved Pooh. You can do that with many rides and then at least you don't feel like you've wasted so much time and aren't stuck doing nothing but just wandering.

Hope things improve for you in the next few days.

Also comparing WDW to Disneyland is like apples and oranges. I like apples and I like oranges. They both have things that I like but both are very different. Enjoy Walt's park and try things that are different or exclusive to California it's what I did when I was in Florida and it helped.

Check and thanks for clearing that up hon. :thumbsup2

So is Tino a troll? :confused3

I would say absolutely not!!! Because someone comes in and says they are not having a good time doesn't make one a troll. It is unfortunate that this situation occurred. Yeah, that does hurt when the plans one makes just don't turn out the way that one expects them to.

I do hope that the next few days are better for this family.

Sounds like Tino had a bad experience, which sometimes happens. Most people have great experiences at DL most of the time. Even DW has its bad days. Maybe Tino can someday give DL another chance, but that certainly isn't necessary.

I grew up with DL and also worked - and essentially lived - at DW for 6-months. DW has some things that I like better than DL, but on the whole, for many reasons that I can list, I prefer DL.

Everyone's different.

I've too been at Disneyland with seemingly more rides and attractions broken down than up. By far thats the exception and not the rule but it has happened to us.

That said, we've had the same experience at WDW. We've had incorrect info given just as often at WDW by CM's as well as numerous rides broken down on any given day. None of this has ever ruined a vacation for us. Research, planning and good frame of mind are essenstial.

WDW is not 100 times better than DLR. Two different resorts, two different experiences. There are things I don't like at WDW just as with DLR but love them both.

I have never been to DL so if I were you I too would be a little disappointed. However, you still have three days left so make the most of it. Go in with a positive attitude and look for the good, not the bad. Just have fun and soak it all in. If you dwell on the negative you are going to leave with a bad attitude about it. All of that is now up to you.;)

I hope the rest of your trip is magical!!:wizard:

However, you still have three days left so make the most of it.

Exactly. It's darkest before the dawn, and all of that stuff. I remember despising SeaWorld the first time I went, just HATING it...then we did just one more thing, and everyone's day turned around and we liked it! Went back for a second day later in the week. (the one more thing was the Pets Rule show...it's awesome)

I know people will be upset about this but Disneyworld is 100 times better.

I'm not upset at your *feeling*, but I try to shy away from saying things like that. It's just your opinion, based on some limited experiences, based on experiences going during *the busiest season of the year*. You're also putting rose colored glasses on if you think that rides don't temporarily break down at WDW... Just today Kilimanjaro Safari was randomly down when a Dis'er went to ride it. Talk about your miserable parks to walk to a ride and find out it's closed!

IMO, WDW is NOT better. I got home from having 10 total days at WDW parks and was nearly in *tears* with the emotion that I wanted to go back to DLR. I still can't believe that I didn't book our trip home with a stop in Anaheim. And WDW barely stood up to our experience at Universal on the same trip. But I still didn't come back and say it was awful. Those were our experiences and our opinions based on very limited time (17 days total in Orlando).

So take a step back from your feelings, and just try to experience Disneyland Resort as it is, and stop comparing it.

I have had everything you mentioned happen to me at WDW, and we didn't let it spoil our whole trip. Don't let it spoil yours. Attitude can really made a difference. I tell my kids, you can have a bad time, or you can make up your mind to have a good time. It is all up to you. I find in trips like this it tends to be win some loose some. Try to focus on the wins.

Rides are down at WDW all the time.

Oh except in the summer at WDW you deal with down pours everyday, and often whole days of rain. You can't walk to the parks, unless you stay at a deluxe resort. WDW is expensive too.

To each his own. Sorry you aren't having a good time.

I don't know if it helps at all but the last time we went (family of 3 with a toddler) we made sure each morning when we entered we got a schedule at the front gate or checked at the info centre to see what was closed and where we could expect the characters we wanted to see...I really hope it gets better for you and your family

Maybe mentioning that you have had a bad experience (out of your kids ear shot of course) to a CM that seems to know what they are doing and seeing if there is anything they can do to help your kids have a better experience...most of the time since we started going (2000 to present) whenever we needed help the CM's were always willing to help.

GOOD LUCK!:wizard:

So sorry it's not living up to your expectations. I hope you find something that you love over the next three days. Try to shake off the bad feelings and go in as a new day and start over. I hope you get to go on BTMRR.

People act like rides at WDW never ever break down though...It happens at both parks. Things happen. They can't control a ride having a malfunction. It's called technology.
