Day 2 - Roger Rabbit character wake-up call @ 8:00 a.m. Hmmmm what happened to Mickey? That wake-up call was evil, it said something like "Wake Up! Wake Up! It's time to play, then it gave some evil little laugh . . .frankly, I thought it was kind of scary! LOL We showered and headed off to our first breakfast at 1900 Park Fare.
Breakfast was kind of hurried, louder than what I remembered, and not that great (food wise). After breakfast we headed off to MK for a few hours. Crowds were very much in existence at the MK, but we didn't have many encounters with long lines for what we rode.
We first rode Indy Speedway, we all had seperate cars, and we had a blast. After the Indy Speedway, we headed off to Tommorrowland Transit Authority, which was a nice relaxing ride through some of the attractions of Tommorrowland. We then headed off to Buzz Lightyear, advice: Use Fastpass! Lines were huge for that ride. We also saw a cute little show in Carasol of Progress, We've never seen that, and we really enjoyed it, it embedded a cute little tune in our heads "It's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" check it out, it is cute!.
After our visit to Tomorrowland, we headed back to the GF to relax a bit just in time before the thunderstorm. The storm blew through pretty quickly, it only rained for about 40 minutes or so. We then went down to the big pool and took a quick swim, then off to the MK again to ride some more rides. We ate at Pinnochio Village Hause which was good, but the fixings bar wasn't in existence any more. We all had cheeseburgers and fries. When Spectromagic went on we headed to Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Carribean and Big Thunder Mountain. Did some souvenier shopping, then waded through the sea of crowds to get back to GF.
Day 3 - DS 9th Birthday! DS received a birthday badge @ Chef Mickey's when we checked in for our PS. They usher you off to have your pic taken in front of this huge plate and then sell you the pics when you are eating b-fast. We did purchase the pics, they were 2 refridgerator magnets and 2 8 x 10's for $26.50. I liked how they came out, otherwise, I wouldn't of purchased them.
During b-fast they do the "napkin dance" and celebrate with all those who are celebrating a special occasion. They brought DS a huge cupcake with tons of whip creme and frosting on it. The food at Chef Mickey's b-fast was awesome! And I didn't find it as annoying as the 1900 Park Fare character b-fast at all. After b-fast we went up to the monorail to head over to Epcot. Before the monorail entered the Concourse, a CM who noticed DS birthday badge pulled him aside and stood him in front of the huge line of people who were waiting for the monorail and exclaimed to the crowd "This is Patrick, and today is his Birthday, let's all sing to him" and with that, everyone who was standing there started to sing, it was very moving, and Patrick was embarrased! I wish I got that CM's name, because he was the only CM who acknowledged DS's b-day badge. That made DS's day! He felt very special! He did get a few other "Happy Birthday" from people that were on the monorail and who were checking out his pin lanyard though and I think that his special day at Disney was one he'll always remember.
When arriving at Epcot, crowds were non-existent. We did Imagination, which included Figment all over the place, Honey I Shrunk The Audience, Circle of Life, Living Seas all less than a 10 - 15 minute wait. There were a few tour groups, you can spot them a mile away with their same color shirts and their leader holding a flag, but we always were headed in a different direction, so we never encountered them in any line, which was a good thing, because when they all got in line, they did raise the time limits up for wait times. They all go to the same place at the same time, including eating establishments, the ones we saw had at least 25 - 30 in a group, so if you are traveling there this summer, just go the opposite way that they are, and you should have no problems.
We headed back to the GF later in the afternoon and rented water mice. Dinner was at Concourse Steakhouse. Good food, bad service. VERY SLOW! We had 6:00 p.m. ressies and didn't leave until 7:45 p.m. Epcot was closing at 9:00, so our plans to go back for the evening were shot, so we headed back to MK which was closing at 10:00. The GF didn't do anything to acknowledge my DS's b-day, which wasn't expected, but I was hoping that maybe, just maybe, that they would send up a balloon or card or something. But that's ok, DS had an awesome b-day and was given a HUGE piece of chocolate cake from Concourse Steakhouse. When I say HUGE, I mean this thing was enormous! So big that we had to take it back to the room with us.
