We just booked the week before Christmas at CBR! We have only camped before at FW, so I am very excited to try out the hotel/dining plan route. We were sure that it would be a few years before we go back again, so I am very excited that we are going. WooHoo!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

We're going with our whole family (9) the first week of December and we can't wait for the holiday decorations. Only 113 more days to go.

Excellent :cool1: :cool1:

You'll love WDW decked out in it's Christams Finest!

Make sure you make time to check out the resorts! And Christmas around the World at Epcot. Try to see Candlelight Processional, very moving!

Have Fun!

We will be there from the 3rd to the 15th at OKW and SSR with a 3 day cruise thrown in the middle. Did anyone see the changes coming to the dining plan yet? Here is a link with a list of changes coming to the dining plan for starters the only place in WS to use it will be Le Cellier none of the DTD eateries will now be on the dining plan.

Congrats - we are doing October this year but I will do December next year!!

We have booked our ADRs already and our tickets for MVMCP. We had planned on eating at Le Cellier while at Epcot and have since read about the Candlelight Processional (yeah disboards!), so I am waiting for the 15th when the dinner packages are available to book for this. i hope I can flip my existing ressie into a package without messing things up too much. We have booked ADRs at Boma, Ohana's, and 1900 Park Fare, all places we have not been to, so we will be able to check out the decorations at these resorts while there.

Boma is really great. stayed at akl last year for 3 nights some people hate the place but i really liked it.

did the cp last year and switch everything over no problem dont know yet about this year if ya can do it. going on the 15 dec for that one

have a great time there

Thanks everyone!

A bit of an annoyance though, I called to see about any availability for upgrading from CBR to WL, and found out that the CM who booked the ressie put the kids ages in wrong (5 and 2, instead of 5 and 7) after several confirmations of the details prior to booking. Of course, this changes things by 300 bucks or so which ticked me off. At this point, we are forced to pay for their error and have escalated the complaint. Of course, I expect to pay for the tickets and dp, but there has been no attempt on the part of WDTC to compensate for error. Their attitude was "sorry for the mistake but you still have to cough up the difference". I guess the magic was gone on this call. Am I wrong to expect a minor adjustment in the rate or something as an apology? With WDW's reputation for service, I guess I expected something more than sorry about your luck.

Yes it was an error but no you shouldn't expect an adjustment on the rates for anything remember Disney is a business int eh business of making money for people like me their shareholders. If they went around handing out discounts to everyone anytime there was an error made they would be losing money rather than making it.

Oh, I know maybe I am expecting too much. However I thought it would be kind of nice, since you seem to read about people getting free upgrades and such on the DIS a lot. Perhaps the fruit baskets and upgrades as amends only happen at the individual hotel level and not central booking? I appreciate that WDW is a big business, but I also thought the corporate philosophy in regards to customer service and satisfaction was what made Disney stand apart from everyone else.

That's why you double and triple check before you hang up the phone!

j

Yes, but you see, I did review everything again prior to hanging up and during the discussion again part way through. So, I did check 3 times...that's why I am ticked, I know I repeated the kid's ages 2 more times after the intial address and person check. I don't know if the CM just assumed that the ages were input right because she remembered me telling her that, or she just said yes without checking.

Sorry you're ticked, Annette. It does sound frustrating. We also had a couple of Disney errors, which they weren't keen to fix. (E.g., dh's AP got screwed up, wrong dates, and we had to make a trip to guest services to fix it--we asked if the corrected one could be mailed to us after our trip, but that was against the rules.) I too was surprised, given what I'd heard. We did find some wonderful CMs but I also found sometimes the service was bureaucratic.

That aside, I hope you have a great time. We debated going on our second trip for Christmas, but instead decided on Feb. Sounds like Dec is a wonderful time to be there, though, and I'm still second-guessing myself!

Ask them if they record their ressies? If so, have them pull it!

j

I may just get them to pull the tapes if they have them, Scratch. Right now it is in the hands of a "co-ordinator" at Guest Services for an investigation. Since they haven't called since this was initated on the 11th, maybe they are checking the tapes, or just haven't gotten around to us yet.

In the end, if nothing happens I won't be surprised. I mean, it's not as if they totally messed up the ressie and I no longer have a room or something. I would pay the full amounts I need to anyways. It is just the un-magical attitude we got when the mistake was discovered from 2 CM (the agent who took my call and her supervisor) involved after I asked them to review the details again that got me ticked. Her supervisor was getting quite heated when we wouldn't accept that this was our mistake and therefore our problem and she kept talking louder and louder! We made a point of staying very polite and calm (getting upset and such usually only makes the situation worse!)

Oh well! We are still very excited about going and getting to experience the Christmas magic at WDW.

As much as I love Disney, their problem management process is not the best.

I had a pretty major issue on our honeymoon trip and after three attempts to get it resolved while on the trip it was finally fixed. I was not looking for compensation but wanted a follow-up call from the resort manager and never got one.

Finally I wrote 2 letters to Al Wies and got a satisfactory reponse when I cc'd Burbank. I don't hink I have ever wrote an exec before to complain about something. Usually, I am too busy to bother.

Still love the place, been back several times since but sometimes the Pixie Dust does go astray.
