I'm wondering if this is a common condition - it's almost like DL withdrawl....

I look through our trip pics (some of which I will be posting in the TR soon)and think of all the pics I meant to take but forgot, I look at the maps and posts here and think of all the things I meant to eat but didn't (can't believe I missed out on Bengal BBQ!!! ). I know i should be happy about our amazing vacation and how much we did get done, but I am still having trouble being back home instead of in the "happiest place on earth!!"

Perhaps the winter snowfall warning and the blizzard outside has something to do with my blues as well - back to the land of gloves and winter parkas - from the land of shorts, tank tops and ice cold frozen lemonades....(man those were good on a hot day!!)

But I am working hard on dh to buy a vacation property in CA - then we could go to DL twice a year!!!:dance3: he's more receptive to the idea now that we've been there and had such a wonderful time...

Could it be - am I homesick for Disneyland???

You've been bitten by the bug! :)

Now you know what I've been afflicted with this year....

I don't think that you are a true Disney fanatic unless you feel sick after getting home... and I don't mean sick with a cold (although this usually happens to us), I mean sick to your stomach because you miss it so much it makes you want to sell off your left foot just to get back to the park! :rotfl2:

(can't believe I missed out on Bengal BBQ!!! ).

My most favorite place to eat!!! I cant believe you didnt go! I dont leave my trip without at least 1 stop there!!:goodvibes

I know how you feel about DL withdrawl, I get it too, yearround. I work at a Disney Store and hearing of peoples upcoming trips or trips they just got back from makes me oh so jealous!

Just start planning your next vacation, what to do , what to eat (very imporatant), where to go first, etc.

HTH!!

I know how you feel, especially in regards to the missed pictures and the forgotten edible treats! One must go through the following stages of grief before one can let go of the desire to be at DL:

*denial - "What do you mean I'm not at DL! Isn't this the line for a Dole Whip?"

*anger - "SHUT UP! I DON'T CARE IF WE ARE IN CHURCH, I'LL TALK ABOUT MY TRIP WHEN EVER I WANT!"

*bargaining - "I'll do anything you ask, just take me to DL. Please."

*depression - "Why should I get out of bed, It's not like theres MM here at home."

*acceptance - "Well, there's always next year!"

I too feel the same way, even after just going for a day. I think I got the bug! At least I have the big trip to plan, now. Maybe you should do the same!! Looking forward to your trip report!

I was like that when we last returned I kept coming back here wishing I was back there. Finally after two years I'm going back :cool1: :cool1: today I made fantasmic reservations as we haven't seen it, and it's going to be girls only trip and my DD has no idea:cool1: Now that it is snowing, I'm ready to go today, I have had enough of this "spring" weather that I'm ready for some California sun.

I understand. This exact feeling is what got us to Disney Twice in a months time! I just didn't feel "finished" after the 1st trip.
Now I am trying to squeeze in another trip between now and the planned one in Jan09...

Planning helps, and coming here.
Maybe make some skewers at home and pretend you are eating Bengal BBQ:confused3 with some Mickey ears on

This is why I'm so glad we got AP's. When I start going thru IASWAM's checklist I start planning our next visit......I don't what I'll do if we can't renew our passes....

Add me to the mix. Most of the people I know think I am nuts and are always saying " you are going AGAIIINNNNN" "weren't you just THEEEERRRRE" but I can NEVER go too many times. As soon as I leave I want to go back. We had an annual pass the last two years and in fact we were just there in Feb after going 4 times in 07 and I already miss it esp since I know that it will be 14 months before we return. This will be the LONGEST in the last probably 5 years that we have gone. As I said we went 4 times in 06 and 07 and before that probably at least twice in 05, 04 and 03. So it is tough but I have a trip to Disney World to tide us over in between so that helps! We just got our renewal for our annual pass though and we are letting it expire which was SO hard to do but we new we couldn't use it so there was no sense in wasting the money but it was SO hard to let it go still!

And as much as I LOVE coming here it is so hard knowing that last summer we were planning our trip and THIS summer I am not going. But I just keep telling myself that I have our DW trip in Nov coming and just keep focusing on that and then as soon as we come home from that I can start focusing on our April trip. So that keeps me going and the minute I come home from one trip I start thinking about the next one. Even if it is a year or more away I HAVE to have another trip planned or else I am depressed. LOL.

I love it more than anything and even if we can't take ANY other trips I HAVE to go to DL at least once a year. It is my MOST fav place!

I just can't understand people that say they went as a kid and now DL is just so boring!! They don't want to go back??

How can that be?? So much has changed! There are new things to see and do all the time!!

I want to live in the park permanently, forever in one of the turrent bedrooms[because all castles have 100's of rooms don't they??]

A girl can dream!

Oh my goodness, I so needed that kind of laugh today!

But yes, that's pretty normal! Considering I start planning our next trip the minute I get home! :scared1: It's all I can do to curb the withdrawl symptoms! :)

Oh, I can totally relate!! We all felt the same way after our last trip. The kids still pull out the photos. DS who was 3 on our last trip and is 6 now, pulled out our album last week to look at. DD, 12 says, almost on a daily basis that she wants to go to DL. I can't wait to surprise them in about 4 weeks!! They have no idea we are going next month.

I'm glad you had such a memorable trip and I know I will be homesick for DL after our next trip.

That would be wonderful to have a DL trip twice a year! I hope that works out for you!

I spent a lot of time after we returned from our last trip in daydream mode, imagining what was going on at Disneyland right then. As I was making my kids their gourmet lunch of hot dogs and mac and cheese, I imagined all the people who at that moment were sitting down with a nice Monte Cristo at the Blue Bayou.....When I settled into the sofa at night to flip mindlessly through the TV channels, my heart was actually finding a place to watch the fireworks above Sleeping Beauty Castle......It took me a long time to "return" to reality, and even still I have a big collage of our DL pics on the wall; I took all my wedding stuff out of the curio cabinet and replaced it with DL souvenirs (after all, the wedding was nine years ago); I only wear my DL-acquired Mickey Mouse watch anymore - even on dressy occasions because the Mick goes with everything; and the list goes on. So yeah, in some ways "real life" is just me kind of biding my time between trips to Disneyland....And I might raise my children to live by the question "WWWD?" (What would Walt do?)....I don't see what is wrong with that?? :confused3 It is just a good old-fashioned obsession with a tinge of mania..... :woohoo:

I've done that too. :goodvibes

Oh, pleezzze don't hate me. I understand your love for my happy place. I miss Disneyland when I am at WDW! I live 20 minutes away and if I don't get to go twice a month, I go into spasms. I have been going at least once year for my first 24 years then I got an annual pass, thank goodness! I am making my family take me for Mother's Day. I am so happy, I don't care if they aren't happy about eating with the princesses, it's all about me! Yay! So, what am I trying to say," Go Disneyland!"

I've got it bad too! I started planning the next trip within 30 days of our return not knowing where the money was going to come from. Good thing for Credit Cards! Don't worry, I'm not too crazy. I figured I could buy the tickets and have all year to pay them off and save up for food money. Then spend early next year paying off the hotel and AP upgrades I'm planning to get! :lmao:

I think my disease is getting worse though, because now I think I see a DLH trip in the future (we never stay on-site) because we'll have APs...and then there's the trip I'm planning for October 09 with my friend and her DD...

OMG I've really lost my mind!

You think THAT'S bad....I was planning our '09 trip as we were driving out of the parking lot at the end of our '06 trip. I turned to my DH and said "We have to come back while the kids are still young enough to feel the magic! Three years should do!" LOL! He thought I was kidding......:lmao:
