No need for pictures --- I believe you both. You were both looking at it from two different perspectives and, it appears, in slightly different areas of the resort.

I went and read the post you referred to and I suspect that earlier on they did have a rope to that main area right off the pool to allow resort guests that area although once it filled there was no need to keep someone stationed there. I would not have wanted to be there - there are other areas along the stretch that were much less crowded and in fact the spot we always watch from usually has us and maybe another family that has stopped by as they have started.

The area is much larger than Main Street and the Castle Hub and could literally hold thousands of people. It was fun last year when we stayed there to watch from our room and we enjoy watching from outside when we are staying elsewhere.

We have friends in Orlando and they go to the Poly for the fireworks on holidays as well.
