I was going to take my mom over to MK tonight to see Wishes. They are forcasting a windy day, up to 15/20 miles per hour. I don't know if it will still be windy at night, but will Disney still do the fireworks? I know they won't do Fantasmic if it is too windy.

Thanks!

doombuggy, I can't really answer you, but I just wanted to let you know that you should be careful when watching Wishes in any wind at all. The first time we saw it I got something caught in my eye. It was very painful, and it took a trip to first aid and hours later for my eye to feel better. I know they cancell Tinkerbelle when it is too windy, so maybe they stop the fireworks too. Most likely they won't know until near the time.

Have a Wonderful Day and enjoy Wishes!!!!!

I wear glasses, but thanks for the warning. :sunny:

Anyone else know?

15/20mph is not considered "windy" so don't worry about it.

I live about 5 minutes from MK and can see Wishes from my house. It is often somewhat windy here, but I can verify that Wishes goes on almost every night. The only time they don't have it is if it is storming badly.

When hurricane Wilma was coming through, I asked the Town Hall if they would have Wishes and she said, as long as the wind is under 25 mph.

We sw Wishes on a fairly windy evening recently and Tinkerbell did not fly. Just keep that in mind if the weather is bad, she won't come down.

I've been on numerous occasions where Tink didn't fly & Fantasmic was cancelled.

Then again, one of our trips always falls in September (hurricanes).

Wishes almost always goes off. The reason is if the pyro (fireworks) are set up, then they HAVE to go off. So even if it's windy (to a point), raining, ect then they have Wishes. I believe the only exceptions are thunder and lighting and hurricane-type winds. (OT, Feralpeg, do you live at Buena Vista Place? I am thinking about moving there and I know it's right behind the MK).

Wishes will still be run. Tinkerbell might not fly but the fireworks will still go off. THey will run them in the rain and the wind. The only thing they will not run them in is lightning. However that is not because of the fireworks themeselves but rather the safety of the guests.

I'm not Feralpeg, and I don't live at Buena Vista Place, but I know several folks that do, and my current roommate used to live there ... if you have any questions, PM me. (also if you have questions about other apartment complexes in the area ... I've looked at a lot of them, and have friends that live in a lot of others)

No, I don't live at Buena Vista Place. I live in a subdivision off CR535.
