We plan on seeing wishes on May 8, our first night at WDW. We have a 6 pm PS at Chef Mickey's that night. What time is Wishes, and where would be the best place to see it from? Should we stay at the Contemporary (what floor should we go to?) or should we go somewhere else?

Any advice will be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks:D

Wishes is not scheduled for the same time every evening like Illuminations usually is. You'll have to check with WDW as your trip approaches to get the most recent schedule. And keep in mind even that can change on a moments notice.

Right now, Wishes is scheduled for 10pm on May 8. Keep an eye on the park hours, either on the main page here or at WDW's official page, for any changes between now and then.

I have not seen Wishes yet, but it seems that the narration is a major part of the show, so you may want to see this one from inside the park. I've heard that the Tomorrowland bridge is a good viewing area. Others may have additional suggestions for viewing.

Wishes Nighttime Spectacular is a musical fireworks/pyrotechnics show at the Magic Kingdom. There is a story that goes along with it involving different characters and narrated by Jiminy Cricket. Although I've never seen the show myself, I do believe that Tinkerbell makes an appearance. Perhaps some others who have experienced Wishes would be better able to give you an idea of what the show is like.

I'm new here, trying to figure everything out...but I wanted to answer your post here! :teeth:

We were at MK in early Dec. and caught Wishes twice...once, accidentally from the Jungle Cruise, and the 2nd time from right in front of the Castle. I would HIGHLY suggest for you to be in the park when watching the show!!! The music and choreography are AWESOME!!! It is NOT to be missed! Of course it was packed in front of the Castle, but once the show started everyone was looking up anyway.

By all means, don't miss Wishes!!! :teeth:

You can also rent a boat to drive you around the Seven Seas Lagoon and then park for a great view of the show, true, you might not be able to hear it as well, but the view, minus the crowds and pavement is a nice treat.

Pontoons cost $120 and many people share them (place a post saying the date you have the boat reserved for) I did this and already have 5 adults to share the cruise with.

We plan to experience both park side and boat side while there.

Last time we ate at the california grille in the Contemporary- music is piped in so that guest can here, they are beautiful to watch. There is a bar area if I remember correctly you could go up and sit and watch them from there. There are quite a few different options for how and where to watch this show.

IllumiNations in Epcot is different- boats are VERY hard to come by- you will see a link to sharing boats at the top of the theme parks thread. Look for the dates you are going, or post what you are hoping for. Generally 90 days out is the rule for booking these.

And of course there is Fantasmic as MGM- a fabulous show!! Every seat is a good seat, as long as you are not down front- its HOT!!!

I hope I helped you out.::MinnieMo

We were just at the park a week ago and saw wishes on two nights. The first night we just shopped on main street and walked out and stood on the street when it started. This is the ideal spot since they project art, etc on the castle itself. Plus the fireworks are centered symetrically around the castle. I think this is the best spot. A few nights later we were all tired and hungry so we grabbed a table along the water at the Plaza Pavillion. We also grabbed some food from across the way and ate while we waited. The show was nice from here but it did not have the same effect as seeing it straight on from the castle. You could not tell that things were centered over each side of the castle. You also could not see all the things on the castle itself. Hope this helps. it was a great show.
