Wishes vs Escape?

My DF and I are really getting frustrated trying to decide what to do here! Everytime I talk to my DF about the wedding plans he describes more of an escape style wedding in such that he wants to get married and then go to some kind of existing dinner show(he keeps switching which one) and then I explain to him that we can do that although what he is describing isn't possible given that DFTW is really strict on the parameters such as venues for escape weddings and of course he wants to invite 40-50 people which isn't possible with an escape. So then when we start talking about a Wishes Wedding he is like I don't want a traditional reception which is basically a requirement for a Wishes Wedding!! AAAAAAAAAAh Any suggestions on what to do here? The #1 most important thing to me as the bride is the Magic Kingdom and Epcot Photo Shoot as we will be getting married during Flower and Garden and I know that I do not want a "ballroom" reception.

Well you could do a brunch reception... Lots of people on here don't have dancing at their receptions, which I think makes it a bit less traditional. Or you could maybe have an outdoor BBQ for a reception in Fort Wilderness which someone described a few threads down. Or maybe do like a cocktail hour type reception. If you want to have 40-50 guests, you have to go Wishes, but the NICE thing about Wishes is that really, you can do whatever you want in terms of customization. So if you and your fiancé say you want something that is not at all traditional, I'm sure they will work with you to make your dreams come true.

Another idea would be to have your reception inside Epcot during IllumiNations. If it's the idea of a show that he's after, you can add entertainers to your reception to put on a custom show, or (if the budget's big enough) have the reception inside an actual show, like Beauty & the Beast or the Lion King.
