WISHES viewing spot

We have always watched Spectro from the table/bench area outside the coffeeshop in Liberty Square, right where the bridge crosses from Main St. into the LS area. You can watch Tink fly from here, and then we dash up the pathway alongside the castle and watch FITS in Fantasyland, where the fireworks are directly overhead. Will this strategy work for Wishes, or is it better to be out in front of the castle or on Main St.? Wishes will only be showing once during our trip next week and I'd hate to be in a bad spot!

I think that wishes is best viewed from Main St. I like to have a little distance( around the circle when you first get onto Main St.) and a view of the front of the castle. You can still see Tinkerbell fly from this spot.

We were lucky enough to view Wishes twice on our last trip--once on Main Street right outside of the ice cream parlor across from the Crystal Palace, and once in front of the castle---closer, on the bridge to tomorrowland.

I tell people to see it twice---once up close and once further back, but since you don't have that option, do the viewing from main street. It is a better overall picture of the show, which is wonderful! Have fun!

I second and third the opinion to view from Main Street, preferably not much closer than that little garden area right in the middle. Without giving anything away, there is stuff going on with the front of the castle, so you definitely want to have that in view.

We saw wishes three time on our last trip in December/January. Without a doubt, watch it from the front of the castle. One time we watched it from another location and it loses a lot. The two times we wayched from the front we were to the right of the circle at the top of Main Street. It was spectacular.

Have fun.

Another vote here for Main Street with the circular garden between you and the castle. If you are actually in the Main Street shopping area, some of the buildings could block the all-around view.
It is definitely a do-not-miss!
Just a p.s., be sure to look all around the sky for the grand finale, not just at the castle. The first time, I was watching through my camera and missed what the hoopla was about. Breathtaking!

We watched from Casey's on Main Street and we had a really good view plus we could sit down. I would suggest maybe sitting towards the middle outside so the trees won't be in your way. Enjoy it is really spectacular!

We found the circular area where the Partners statue is located to be ideal. We found a spot as you approach the statue right to the left of the walkway. You've got the landscaping in front of you so as to avoid heads and other obstructions. I posted these pictures Wishes Photos yesterday if you would like to see the actual view from this location.

 Perhaps I don't know any better but I thought wishes is shown every night. We were just there and while Spectro was shown only 2x during the week, Wishes happened nightly which enabled us to luckily see it 3x. It would be a travesty to miss it or not fully experience it's wonder. Stick with the front of the castle and by the partners statue.
Have a great trip.:earsboy:

We were by the carousel and the fireworks were right above us, especially the rockets! I don't think there really is a "bad" spot since they are so awesome!

We watched it 3x last week - totally amazing fireworks show!! The first time we saw it from the train station platform on Main St. - excellent view, but they did not dim all the lights. Next time I watched from the rose garden - great view, but the fireworks are off to the right of the castle, not lined up behind it. On our last night we had dinner at O'hana's and watched it from afar. This is also an awesome perspective (DD said, "it's like they were meant to be seen from here!"), but you don't get to see the special effects on the castle from that far away - every view was good, but a little different - if you can only see it once, I agree with somewhere on Main St with a clear view of the castle. - Enjoy !- it's absolutely stunning!:smooth:

I saw it 3 times at the beginning of last month. Once in the middle of Main Street next to the tip board, once on the path between the tip board & Crystal Palace and once on the Tomorrowland Bridge. I thought the best view was on the path between the tip board & Crystal Palace. We were at the rail so no one could step in front of us, perfect view of the castle. Tomorrowland Bridge had some blocked views.

We found the perfect spot for us to view Wishes was actually, as you look at the castle, on the left side of the circle garden just about the eight o'clock position. We watched it the first night we had to spend the time for it in complete awe. My honey and I had never seen Tinkerbelle fly, so this was a real treat. We thought that it was so amazing. We went back one night later in the trip just to tape it.

We did catch a little of the show the first night we were there last month during MVMCP. We had a little different experience with it though. It started right as we were exiting Splash Mountain. We were totally soaked. We made our way to BTMRR and the ride was certainly enhanced with the fireworks! OMG, it was like the most amazing ride ever. I wish BTMRR could always be like that at night. It was certainly a special night.

if you're there soon there's a great place in front of the crystal palace, near caseys and just beside the red and white sign for first aid (this will all make sense when you stand there). People won't stand there as there's a tree that looks like it completely blocks your view, but because the fireworks are off to the left a bit it doesnt at all and you see the castle and tink - and you don't need to get there as early as you would main street itself. this won't work when said tree gets leaves though as it'll block the castle itself.

Saw it twice, and while the circle around the Partners statue was a good site, the BEST was on the Grand Gatherings Magical Fireworks Voyage cruise on the Seven Seas Lagoon. They stop the boats directly in front of the castle and pipe in the music. You *do* miss most of the castle effects, although you can see them a little, but the fireworks themselves really are best viewed from afar! As an added bonus, these cruise boats got a private showing of the Electric Light Water Parade (or whatever the real name is!) before Wishes started!! It was the first time I'd seen that, so that was cool....and it was a surprise, too! Disney never mentioned that when we booked our cruise...they always keep a little magic in store!!

You know, I just re-read my original post and Chip Endale is absolutely correct; Wishes is shown every night of our trip. Spectro will only be running one night. I guess I was thinking that we'll only be in MK that one night, but of course if we can't get a good viewing spot we can always go back another night for Wishes!

We were there last week and watched directly in the middle of main street behind the circle near the castle. We were far enough away that heads werent in the way and we were close enough to see Tink and see all the cool things they do with the castle. Direct view is definitely best in my opinion. And dont worry that you might be blocking people from walking down main street. Tons of people stop there to watch. It was one of the best fireworks displays Ive ever seen. Brought tears to my eyes. Even now, it still does. Enjoy!
