Wishes to be replaced!

So I've seen this every where except here so I'll post it. Rumor is and you see it mentioned in the DK thread that it will be replaced when FLE has its grand opening and will heavily involve FL in it's story.

I really hope this is true. I like wishes, but do not love. Especially not after seeing Remember Dreams come true at Disneyland, which is the best firework show I have seen.

I've seen this rumor on some other boards, including someone who posted that it would happen this summer... I have a hard time believing it'll be that soon, the opening of the new Fantasyland sounds more likely.

I think "Wishes" is a decent enough display but I have no special attachment to it. Hopefully, they're going to take it to the next level and not just slash the fireworks budget or something.

I wish they'd change Illuminations first. Wishes is Ok. I like it, but i don't love it. I'm really sick of Illuminations. I know there was a thread about this a while back and i don't want to turn this thread into that, i just wanted to share my opinion.

As long as they continue to have fireworks, I don't much care what they call it. I'm sure whatever replaces Wishes will be wonderful.

I do enjoy "Wishes" as I think it is a very nice display. It also gets me very teary-eyed, but I think mainly because of the music. However, if it does have to be replaced I think it would be the perfect time when the FLE is complete. Thanks for the info FIG!!

I agree with ASteelersMidget that Illuminations needs a redo also.

I LOVE both Wishes and Illuminations! The music to Wishes always make me get teary eyed and Illuminations makes me proud to be part of this world. I'm praying that Wishes is not scrapped when FLE is finished

I'm torn.

I have had some especially good wishes answered - an extra 2 years with my friend Joan until the Multiple Myeloma caught up with her..very special memories.


I have to agree with you.....Remember Dreams Come True at DL is an exceptionally good fireworks display. How about Tinker Bell's flight during that show....back and forth around the castle while Walts words ring out...."To all who come here, Welcome. Disneyland is your land". I still get a lump in my throat when I think about it.

Also, now that Disney has cut back the number of shells in all of their fireworks shows.....they are kind of a shadow of their former grandure (Illuminations especially true but also cutbacks in Wishes are sad). When we start out with a brand new show.....all will be fresh. No more YouTube comparisons of fireworks, past and current.

I'm perfectly fine with changes, but my concern is that lately their changes are truly not better. Will they go the route of "The magic, the memories and you?" and wow us with cool technology and showmanship? or will they cut budget and see how little they can get by with? That's my concern for both wishes and illuminations.

I would love to see a massive change to Illuminations. The current one is ok, but I loved the music to Illuminations 25 so much more; it was more classically focused.

We're going to DLR in Sept. 2012 before the Pacific Coast DCL, so maybe I'll change my mind after seeing that fireworks show?

Remember the 25th anniversary of the Magic Kingdom....when they went to the expense of changing the castle to a cake? Ok, I was a fan of the cake for about 35 seconds.....but.....doesn't it seem like Disney is planning a pretty limp aka: inexpensive, 40th anniversary celebration?

Igor panicked when he saw the flat 4Q report. To reduce cost he thought the finally of wishes would be a good spot. He doubts anyone would notice the change to bottle rockets.

I like to be able to look forward to new things each trip we make. I am dissapointed that Illuminations has stayed the same for so many years.
I love the theme but would have liked to see them update the show.

We started taking the kids to WDW in 2000 for the millenium and other than a few tweaks the show is the same now.

I've seen wishes multiple times and enjoyed it but I look forward to a new show.

If nothing every changed at WDW then we would not have The Wishes show that everyone is so attached to. Why not try something new that might be just as sentimental or even better.

I really hope not! Wishes is my absolute favorite show. I saw it on my first trip and will never forget it. Everytime I see wishes I cry, so please, please, please don't get rid of it yet!
