We re going in Oct & are planning on CG or Narcoosees, can someone tell me what time ressie is best to "see" the magic;)
We are staying in MK view room @ CR so is it worth trying to schedule the view from a restaurant? TIA for the help :)

We did Narcoossee's in Feb. We had a 7:30 ressie for 8PM MK fireworks. We were told that they would work our meal around fireworks so we wouldn't be interrupted during any course of our dinner.

I can't say how that worked truly because fireworks got started before we were seated! It really was ok because we scheduled the dinner to see the works and we did get to see them. And dinner was marvelous! :worship:

We stepped out to the veranda surrounding the restaurant...others were down on the boat dock. The synchronized music is piped in and it was really cool. It gets a :thumbsup2 from me...especially the surf :goodvibes and turf :goodvibes

enjoy!

Nothing compares to seeing it from the park. However, at these two restaurants, they will pipe in the music so you can listen along where you won't have that in your room.

We go to CG just about every trip and if we take newbies, we try to schedule for them to dine and see the fireworks. Two months ago, we waited 50 minutes past our ADR time to get a table and there were TONS of people waiting after us who were going to have an even longer wait. I believe this has become a more frequent situation with the ADR's an hour or so before fireworks. We prefer the food at FF over Narcoosees and haven't been there in a couple of years so I don't know if the same situation is now happening there too.

So I would probably make my reservation for 90 minutes before the fireworks and be prepared to have a wait for a table but you should be seated before the show.

I was only able to get reservations at 6 p.m. before 8 p.m Wishes.

Should I request a table with a view in my reservation, or do they not take requests?

I made ressies for our last night (June 1) at Narcoosee's for 8:30 p.m. with Wishes at 10 p.m. thinking we will either be finished or at least at dessert by the time the fireworks start. Now, with it being our honeymoon, I was advised to ask for a window when we arrive at the podium, but we'll see how that goes. I'm sure we will be able to see the show just fine from another place if that happens also.

I also realized that two nights before (Friday, May 30) I had planned our 1900 Park Fare Dinner at 8:30 p.m. and Wishes is at 10. I just called and changed our ADR to 6:50 instead (I asked for close to 7'ish and that was available). I wanted to see the fireworks in the park on that night and realized, that just probably would not be enough time for a character meal (that I fully intend to enjoy as I'm probably surprising Dfiance with a cake) and DD12 would have a melt down if she did not get to see Tink fly down the rope at least once on our trip. Yes, we have two nights scheduled for MK, but the other was planned to view Wishes from Narcoosee's and then return to MK for EMH until we poop out. As I was poring over my spreadsheet, I realized my collossal blunder and called to change. CM seemed a little surprised that she was able to get me about the time that I wanted, but I didn't figure it would be THAT big of a deal. LOL Even if we weren't able to change it, we would have made due somehow.

You can request when you get there but almost everyone makes this request and it will add wait time to get seated. Since you are 2 hrs before the fireworks, I would request at podium when you get there and you should get a table in time.

I don't know which of the two places you are dining at but at Narcoosees, there may be people standing outside in front of the windows which will make your window seat no better than an interior table. You'd have to go out on the dock anyway. And not all CG window tables face the castle.

For CG, I think they now let you leave and come back for fireworks, at least that is what happened for us last december. By doing this, people don't have to sit around defending tables at fireworks time.

So, if wishes is at 9, I'd make the adr for 7. If I have time to kill before the fireworks, I can go check out the hotel and gift shops. If dinner takes a while I'm still likely to be done before the fireworks. Obviously, when you check in, ask at the podium if you can do this, but I honestly don't think they'd say no if the alternative is that you're going to defend your table until 9.
