Wishes Speciality Cruises

Hi

Please can anyone tell me about the cruise to see the wishes fireworks in MK and how these differ to the grand gatherings fireworks cruises. can you tell me how long they last as private dining can be ordered onboard, will we have time to eat? and where they dock to see the fireworks, will we get a good view

We've done both, the GG one and the regular cruise. We just got back Oct. 7th and did our second pontoon boat Wishes cruise on that trip. They're awesome! There just isn't a better way to see the fireworks show. The boats will hold 10-12 people (depending on which you book, regular or premium). We did the premium (and actually had two boats for our group of 20) and got a basket full of snacks (popcorn, chips, pretzels, that sort of thing), and a cooler full of drinks (water and soda).
The GG cruise starts with a dessert reception at the Contemporary Resort, where you meet Capt. Hook and Mr. Smee. You will be on a boat with other families/groups, it's not private like the pontoon boats. Your "pirate" captain (usually named Patch) will then lead you out to the boat. They sing songs, play trivia games and give prizes out to the kids. It's a lot of fun and our group loved it!

As far as the length of the pontoon cruises, we had to be on the dock an hour before the fireworks started. They take you around Bay Lake, you watch the Electrical Water Pageant (although this last time it was after Wishes instead of before because of the park closing time), and then you "park" in front of the MK with a perfect view. It's worth every penny, you'll love it!

Just a note -- the boats "dock" for Illuminations, but pretty much float free for Wishes. If it is windy, they'll fire the motors to try to keep them aligned for the best viewing.

I wouldn't plan much of a meal on board. Should the weather be bad, you won't enjoy it (and I'm not sure you sould get any money back unless Disney cancelled).
