Hi everyone!

We just got engaged last month and we're trying to plan a Disney Wedding for 2015.

I know I can't really get any info from Disney until we are 16 months out, but I need to be able to price it out sooner that so I know if this is something we can realistically accomplish.

So, I went onto website and picked the following options (definitely not 100% set on the locations... Just went with what appealed to me the most):

Ceremony at Sea Breeze Point
On a Friday
Up to 50 people
Reception in Animal Kingdom
DJ
Photographer
MK portrait session

So now here's my questions... It gives you a "Starting at...." price with those options... But what specifically is included in the price?

Does that include the FOOD at the reception or just the location? Does it include a cake? Transportation?

I'm confused because when I priced out the Ecape option, it asks you about flowers, and decos, a cake, and transportation, and a whole bunch of other stuff, and then breaks down the cost at the end showing each option you picked. The Wishes one didn't ask.... So what does that mean?

I need to go to my parents with a number but I don't want to say number that's not even close to what the actual cost will be.

Can someone help me with a breakdown before I HAVE a breakdown?! :rotfl2:

What it means is that Wishes is not a package the way Escape is. Everything you add is a la carte, and you can add whatever you want as long as you spend a certain amount on certain things.

If you check out the pricing page on the site, it explains the pricing structure. You can use the number of guests and the time and day of the week you want to calculate *roughly* how much you'll spend.

But for more detailed calculations, most of us create our own budgets in Excel and then find the prices for things we want by looking at what people have posted on this site (the Share Your Budget thread is great for this) and plug them into that to get an idea.

Congrats on your engagement! :goodvibes

Well an Animal Kingdom reception on a Friday is definitely dinner, right? So isn't that a $175 charge for food and beverage alone? So multiply that by your number of guests, and 175x50 is $8,750 on food. Plus you need the extra $8,000 in "enhancements" on a Friday (floral, DJ, Mickey & Minnie etc), and $3500 for Sea Breeze Point. So I guess you're in for at least $20,250 at the very least based on just the minimums.

Thanks everyone! I found the Share Your Budget thread shortly after posting here! But I appreciate every little bit of info I can get! Since Disney won't talk to me at all about any of this, I really need to know exactly what I need to budget for and they make it so difficult! More info is always appreciated and I will DEFINITELY look into that book! Thank you so much! :goodvibes

So basically then, the starting price that I was quoted includes the cost for the location, but not for the food? That would be where the $175/person comes in.

Since the Animal Kingdom reception claims to include live entertainment, does that eliminate the need for DJ? :confused3

Anyone know if the price of food is the same for kids and adults? My fiance's side of the family has a lot of kids and $175/person is a lot for kids who probably won't eat a whole meal, you know? If there a difference for kids plates? :confused3

Nothing is included in the reception venue fee but the venue. You would need to pay extra if you wanted live music, a DJ, etc. It would count toward your enhancement minimum at least. Also, you should be aware that AK events can't start until 2 hours after park closing—sometimes that makes a difference for people.

Thank you! I know it must drive you crazy having to do this every time someone asks a question! I really appreciate it and I'm reading the book now! :thumbsup2

Nah... I was new here once and asking a ton of questions, too, so I know how confusing it can be when you're first starting to investigate a Disney wedding! :thumbsup2
