Wishes or Illuminations for Birthday Cruise?

When booking a birthday cruise, do I get to choose Wishes or Illuminations?

I haven't taken the wishes cruise but I finally got to take the illuminations cruise when I was there last week. I think as far as Bday stuff (cake etc) it is the same because on our Illuminations cruise we parked next to one and we saw one of the wishes one going out near MK. Anyway, our boat pulled up to a bday boat and they let us join in their celebration and have some of the yummy cake. It was a great addition to what was already a great night. WE LOVED THE CRUISE.

Back in December I booked a Wishes birthday cruise. I was actually trying to get an Illuminations cruise, but they were already booked for that day and they asked me if I would like a Wishes cruise (I did start calling early and followed all the directions in the sticky at the top of the forum page). Then they asked if I would like to make it a Birthday cruise, so I did being that DS's will be turning 13 two weeks after that. So as long as they have boats available for either cruise, I think you could have a choice. Also you have a choice of which MK resort you want to depart from, we picked the Polynesian.
