We're going to be doing the Wishes Dessert Party one night for my dad's birthday. However, I'd really like DD to be able to see the MSELP. It's her first trip & we're only able to afford going every 5 years or so (also because we like to do other vacation destinations).

I know you can't really see the parade from the dessert party, so I was thinking: would it be possible to check into the Dessert Party and while the rest of my family (there's 7 of us) gets their seats & start eating, DD & I run down to catch part of the parade??

I know we won't get spectacular seats to view the parade since we'll be showing up late, but she's got the attention span of a 2-year-old. I can plop her up on my shoulders for 15 minutes and then she'll be ready to move onto something else. And I trust my family to grab some choice desserts for us while we're gone so that we still have a decent selection.

What do you guys think? Do-able?

So long as you do check in first, they'll give you a wristband. "Running" down to see the parade is more like swimming through molasses, and "running" back is swimming against the current. But so long as you're OK with missing a big chunk of the pre-fireworks Dessert Party time it is doable.

When the fireworkst start people sometimes abandon their tables to watch, although you really have a decent view even while sitting. CMs then start to clear up. Let the CM know that you want to keep your plates/drinks and you can continue to nosh during and even slightly after the fireworks. They reduce the buffet to one line but it does stay open and stocked. That will help make up for some of the lost time.

When I attended the Dessert party, I was able to see the tops of the parade floats from the party. While not ideal it was enough for me. Maybe you can just let your daughter view from the railings. (remember to not block someone else's view)

I would definately try it as long as you get your wristbands first! When we went, you could see it a little from our seats but its so far away and theres trees in the way.

There are two parades the night that we are going to the dessert party. I am going to try to catch the second parade. I don't want to miss the desserts and viewing area that I paid for so I am hoping that while most are exiting the park I can snag a spot for the parade. :goodvibes
