Wishes in December - trying to estimate time for fireworks cruise...

How much does Disney vary the showing of Wishes? Is it pretty regularly at 9pm (not on party days). I called and got a Wishes fireworks cruise for Christmas eve but the CM said I'd have to call back about 1-2 weeks out to check the time of our cruise. Our plan is to spend a large portion of the day in DD/DQ with dinner at Rainforest Cafe but want to be certain to allot plenty of time to return to the Poly for our cruise. Is Wishes ever shown earlier than 9pm? Do I really have to wait til 1-2 weeks out to find the schedule. The Dec hours should be out within the week if following the schedule of recent release of hours but will the hours continue to change up til the last minute?

Sorry if this is too many questions! I am very excited about our trip and want Christmas eve to be a special day. My kids are not as excited to be away from home for Christmas (first time for us not to be home) as I am.

Does anyone know about these Wishes cruises?

Maybe this one - how many people can these boats actually hold?

We did a Wishes cruise in May. I booked it at 90 days out before the schedules were out for May, and I was given a tentative time. I called back when the schedules were published and received a more definite time, but I was told to keep an eye on the schedules and call back again 1-2 weeks in advance in case of changes. I even called the morning of our cruise just to make sure everything was still at the same time.

The boats hold 10-12, I believe, depending upon the number/ages of children in your party. We had only 7 total (4 adults, 3 children--13, 11, and 5) and had plenty of extra room.

How was the view? Did you bring any snacks for children? How many other boats were sharing the moment with you? How would you compare it to viewing wishes from within the park? Can you compare it to the illuminations cruise?
