Wishes & Illuminations Cruise

Its FUN, but very pricey.

If its within your means, it can be special.
You could also "share" with another small group to split the expense.
Many post the "sharing info" here on this board.

I'd vote for IllumiNations as you can see ALL of the show and experience the sound directly from Epcot's wonderful sound system.

With Wishes cruise, you can't see the front of castle (which is a very nice part of the show) and the audio is from a secondary system.

You can have the "best of both", so to speak, (with only payment for ONE) if the book IllumiNations Cruise on one night and just view Wishes from the beach at the Poly on another night.

I can only speak for the Illuminations cruise, as I have not been on the Wishes one. We went for the first time on our December trip and loved it - it was great. Yes, it is expensive, but to us it was worth it - we even tried to book another one during our stay, but of course none were available at the last minute. We decided that this is something we will do every trip (if we can get a reservation).

We went on Wishes prior to Christmas. The price was higher than found in the tour book, so be sure to check on the price. It was originally my husbands idea and then I told him the real price prior to our trip and he was alittle unsure of it due to the cost. But when all said and done he felt it was worth it. Everyone else enjoyed it also. You find out alittle more about the area on the boat trip prior to the show. It was cold when we went and they had blankets for us. We never had seen wishes at the castle, so can't compare.

We are about to do one with our dd2 and dd9month. It is pricey, but if you can book it, you should have no problem finding people to share with you.

I'm planning on trying to book an Illuminations cruise for August. I really do want to go and am budgeting the money for it now.

Yeah, they raised the prices, effective Oct. 1 I believe.

We've done both and I think Illuminations is the better choice. For us it was worth it.

You're going in August? The higher crowd levels then would make it even more worthwhile to me. Good luck with the ressie -- you'll want to be calling the moment the window opens up.

We have only done the Illuminations cruise and we loved it. Our captain was tons of fun - she let us bring on food and drinks - even though we weren't supposed to... the only thing I can say is it is cold out there - so dress warmer than you would plan to if you were standing around the lake watching the fireworks. Enjoy...

Our cruise was Wilma +2 days. 55 degrees was very chilly. They usually provide blankets, however you will still want to be prepared for colder than expected "feels like" air temps.
