Has anyone watched Wishes from their Poly Concierge Lagoon room? We are going in May and just booked the Poly Concierge Lagoon view and I'm so excited. Just wondering if the view is as good as they say. Thanks for your help.

During our stay in November, we watched Wishes just about every night. The view was spectacular! You can't hear all of the narration but the show is definitely worth it! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

turnlisa, can you give me an idea of what types of foods were available thru Poly concierge. We're contemplating whether it would be worthwhile for our next vacation to upgrade to concierge. We are a family of five and the kids aren't very picky. When the guidebooks describe concierge they usually say something like 'a whole host of other amenities and services are usually available to concierge guests'. What does that mean exactly? Does the concierge make your 90-day PS's or something else?

Thanks.

The foods in the morning included bagels, danishes, english muffins, mini-muffins, oatmeal, bananas, coffee, juice, water, and pineapple bread. In the afternoon, they had the most awesome cookies, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the kids along with gummy worms, candies and fruit. The evening fare changed from night to night with enough food to serve as an appetizer. Following dinner, they had desserts of lots of mini-tarts, sometimes cake, and various wines and cordials. We definitely thought it was worth it for us just to have the breakfast stuff. We always have a problem finding quick things at the parks and my DH needs that coffee first thing in the morning. The boys (I have two DSs -- 2 and 7) just loved running up to the lounge and getting what they wanted.

Additional amenities included turndown service. The staff was wonderful. On the day we checked in there were buckets of goodies for the kids as well as the items that I had asked them to pick up. For my birthday I received a basket of goodies and for my DSs birthday they delivered a cake and balloons along with birthday hats and noise makers. The planning office does make your PSs for you at your request. They were even able to book my DS on the Pirate Cruise at the Grand Floridian. I had to change a reservation while we were there for the Fantasmic Dinner Package and the staff handled this with no problems!

After staying concierage, we definitely decided we would spend the extra money and do it again. Being pampered was worth it to us since this is the one big vacation of the year. My kids just loved the extra attention they received. The ladies that did turndown even learned their names which made them feel extra special. If you can afford it, I highly recommend it.

Lucky you. The view is wonderful. We stayed there 4 years ago in May. The weather was great at that time as well. You will be able to watch the Electric Water Parade from your room and will probably get a glimpse of the occassional wedding held at the point (just to your right). You will see the Magic Kingdom in the distance and see how it lights up different colors at night.

BTW what kind of rate were you able to get in May? We are thinking of going back this spring and we were their the first week of May (after the rates went down). I suggest you call back often to see if your rate has lowered. We were able to stay there for $179/night but it took about 50 calls to get the rate which was possible if you purchased a season pass. It was worth it since we stayed 7 days. Have fun.
