Wishes Firework Cruise

Has anyone done this, is it worth while, worth the money?

We were thinking this would be a lovely thing to do on Valentines night when we are there next year. We have a reservation at the CG for 9.20 so it seemed the perfect opportunity to book one of these to watch the fireworks before our meal and have some pre diner snacks. The CM I spoke to about it said we would arrive at 7, board the boat at 7.30 and disembark at 8.30 and we can embark and disembark at the Contemporary. So it fits perfectly with our diner reservation.

There will be 8 of us doing the cruise, 4 adults and 4 children. We would want the cruise with the audio feed. I am also considering asking private dining to arrange for a Valentines celebration cake to be sent to the boat so that I can take it up to the CG to have for desert. I know I can book a cake from CG but apparently there is little choice and they are frozen cakes, if you contact private dining you get more choice.

Also the CM said I could book for February 14th on November 16th however I was wondering do I still get the additional 10 days on this, meaning I could book on the 6th?

I think that would be great fun, but it may be a bit cold at that time of year. I enjoyed the wishes cruise more than the Illuminations cruise but you do need the piped music that you were planning. I'm afraid I don't know anything about the cakes.

We don't mind the cold being British makes you get used to it I just thought it would be nice to have a different perspective on the fireworks.

The main thing that I want to know is about making the reservation. The CM I spoke to said the 16th November which is exactly 90 days out however I wondered if I would be able to try my luck on the 6th November? Do we get 90 days + 10 as with the dining reservations?

I did the wishes fireworks cruise in August and it was the highlight of the holiday. Set off from the Contemporary and I ordered a birthday cake from the Contemporary resort dining number. I wasn't able to do the 90 days +10 but I also wasn't staying onsite so can't verify this fact, I'm pretty sure that you can't get 90 days +10 though.

Hi Em, you can't book 90 + 10 i'm afraid. I am going to book it for next Sept so would love to hear what you think.

When I looked into it a while ago I remember reading a post on here somewhere which said to call the number before the office opens (which I think is 9am) so it is stored in your phone then a minute before opening just continously hit redial until the answerphone is off then you should be first in the queue as it sells out first thing every single day as it is so popular. That's great to know DTM - what was the cake like? Did you get much choice over flavours, design etc and were you able to get it personalised?

Its stunning Emma, you will love it, we were lucky enough to do an Illuminations Cruise in 2006 with a DIS family from New Jersey and then luckier still that they were there the same time as us in 2007 so we did the Wishes cruise together. I preferred the Wishes cruise we got the music piped in, we got a tour of Bay Lake with some interesting information and then were out on the lake for the Electric Pageant after Wishes, it was wonderful. We did this last December and it was freezing, full on wrapped in blankets with icy cold ears but it was well worth it. A Lapu Lapu at the Poly soon warmed me up afterwards.
