are these worth it? I have a 2 year old and think it would be fun but could be wrong. Is it a better view of the fireworks? We have ADRs at BoG at 6:35 would that be okay?

We love the dessert party as my husband and I love desserts. We also like to sit and watch the fireworks without being surrounded by a crowd. The view isn't any better Tinkerbell does fly right over you.

I suggest searching for some of the other recent threads on Wishes (possibly in the Theme Parks forum). The current complaint is that they no longer assign tables based on when you booked the reservation, so that you have to show up early to get a good table - which defeats the purpose of having reserved seating.

We went in January 2015 and from my understanding some things have changed since then. We had a "good" table one would assume (right up front) but once the fireworks started (before actually) everyone went up to the railing so I don't know that it really mattered anyway (unless they changed that). We did this to celebrate my Son's birthday that day and it was nice, but we were pretty full so we didn't really get to enjoy a lot of the really adorable treats - save room if you do it! As for the view of the fireworks you have a clear view of them and Tinkerbell does fly overhead, but you're also off to the side so you see them going off "off center" (and somewhat in back of) to the castle as compared to how you would see them if standing in the hub - it doesn't have the same effect imo. It was a fun experience and definitely nice to avoid the crowds a bit, but not a "must do" for us in the future. I could see possibly maybe kinda sorta ;) doing it again.... just not in any real hurry to any time soon. It was also freezing that night, so that may have affected some of our perception of it. Luckily they had hot chocolate and coffee :)

For me it is not worth it. Last year the dessert party used to cost $25 and you had a reserved table. Now fast forward to the current Wishes dessert party, it now cost $50, you don't have reserved seats and now will want to arrive at least 1 hour in advance of when the party starts. Oh, but you di get a nice table cloth, a table lantern and some sparkling apple juice in a flute. I guess each person has to make that decision, for me it is not worth $50 for this event. As for the view, as previously mentioned it is off center and really is not the best view of the fireworks. It's ok, but far from great.

I don't think it's worth it anymore. Like the above poster, it use to be about $25 bucks but now it's double for almost the same experience.
With a 2 year old it maybe tough. It is not the best view of the fireworks in my opinion but it is a dedicated view. Recently we went on top of the train station on main street to watch the fire works and it was one of the best views I've ever had for them. Not the best for the electro magic parade but not horrible. Again, we got there about an hour in advance.

You are in the space for a long time so if your child is easily board or gets rammy fast, maybe not the best option because it's crowded and there are tables and chairs everywhere. Not a lot of space to let energy out. There were a few smaller children when we went that actually fell asleep prior.

Also dinner that late and then the dessert party would not be optimal in my book. THERE IS SO MUCH FOOD at the party including some non-dessert type things so you probably wouldn't eat your fill to get your money's worth. DH & I did it a few years ago and we had a late lunch like around 3. If we ate any later than that, I don't think we could have eaten the spread they had and we still had trouble.

You also would want to get there early. We got there at least an hour before they let everyone in and there is a huge line to get checked in. Yes it's controlled and everyone can get food and seated ok but to get a "good" seat now that they aren't assigned, waiting in line is critical.

Not worth it. Grab something from the ice cream shop on Main Street and stake out a good spot nearby to view the fireworks, and save the $$$ for something else.

Don't forget, there's also no standing at the railing when the fireworks start now. That's the kicker for me. I mean, no matter whether the better tables go to the people who reserved first or the people who stand in line on the day, someone has to sit at the less desirable tables. But whereas they used to be able to leave the table to get a better view, now they're basically just stuck there.

We have done the dessert party a couple of times and enjoyed it however it appears that there have been some changes that may make the experience less than magical. It is a great location but it is close to the castle and your little one might find the noise of the fireworks frightening ... the last time we were there one mother had to leave with her toddler and hang in the back as the child was apparently disturbed by the noise.

You may also find that after a nice meal at BOG you will not really appreciate the "wonders" of the dessert buffets, we did our first after a lovely meal at California Grill ... we enjoyed the view but the desserts were pretty much wasted on us!

All things considered I would save the $$$ and watch with the masses.

Worth it is a subjective term. Last summer I was still on board after the price increase. This year with no assigned seating I am bagging for the Ferrytale Cruise.

We did what I believe is the old party late last April and it was ok... I don't think we would do it again though. Also with the view of tinkerbell my son (9 at the time) to this day insists it was a man
