We have been to WDW over 30+ times but we have never done any dessert parties. Thinking about trying to book a Wishes Dessert Party for our upcoming trip this month as a birthday surprise for my mom.

What are yalls reviews of it? Also what is the cost?

Last, is the menu pretty much random or is it similar each night?

Any details y'all could give me would be great as I know just about nothing.

Cost is $49 a person. Don't know when you're planning on going, but most dates booked months ago, so you may have a hard time getting ADRs. Although Christmas Party nights just got released about a week ago, so there might still be openings available during a party.

The menu is pretty much the same every night. We did it once before & have an ADR for our party night next month. We aren't big on the night time parades & fireworks, so that's why we have only done it once before. We liked the desserts & having a relatively quiet place to wait for & watch the fireworks. But it's only the 2 of us, so costs lots less than taking a big family.

We did it when it was $25 and thought it was great. We usually go to Disneyland, and we love that we can have this huge private standing (and sitting! Actual tables with chairs) area to watch the fireworks and eat desserts which is something you don't get to experience on the west coast. We have also reserved it again for our March trip to WDW at $49 a person. It seems from the pictures I've seen to be roughly the same but with way fancier tables and set ups. It's a splurge for sure, but we just factor it in to the cost of the trip. A dessert and a coffee nearby at the Plaza may cost around $15, so I feel I'm paying the extra $35 for the nice private viewing area. It's a hair to the right of the dead-on sight line of Main St but it's also away form the thousands of people on Main Street!

We go every year. For us, it is a no stress way to enjoy the fireworks while sitting at a table and having a nice dessert without getting trampled and pushed. Lots of people feel it is a waste of money. With the thousands of dollars that a Disney vacation costs, $49 a person is a drop in the bucket. I look at it this way, if we were going to a movie we would spend at least $30 a person for the movie, snacks and drinks. Is the $19 more for this once a year experience worth it? To me, the answer is absolutely yes.

We went during the Christmas Party. It shortened the amount of time we got to do party events, so we were not happy there. It rained, Tink didn't fly, we were under an overhang with our view obscured by trees and guests who did not mind stnding out in the freezing cold...need I go on?
I'm sure it was very nice if the weather cooperates, but I definitely would not do it on an MVMCP night unless you don't plan to do much else. We had dinner at CRT, stood in line around 30 minutes for Jack Skellington, then around 40 for Scrooge McDuck, rode Dumbo and the roller coaster, merry go round, then had to go to the dessert party. Besides a few princess meets, we didn't do much else. Definitely a bad night for us. Might have been better (as I said) with better weather. However, the fireworks did go off, as did the party, so no do over there.

We also go every year. If you get sticker shock it may not be for you. We've been going for several years even with last summers price hike. It's worth it for the seating and view. We love the desserts too.

Lol we did get a laugh out of it in the fact that we went on a party night. Only Disney can come up with a ticketed event within a ticketed event inside a paid admission.

I would agree that going on a party night makes it less appealing. You end up missing some things that you are paying to experience. We don't do the parties anymore because my kids are in high school and college and unfortunately we can't travel at those times so when we are there in Feb/Mar we pay a regular park admission.

You don't really pay three times though, that is misleading because your ticketed event-the MNSSHP or MVMCP-is your park admission. If you're choosing to go to the party you are not being forced to buy park admission on top of that only if you decide to go to the park during the day and then the party.

We did it once on our last trip. While we enjoyed it and were glad we tried it once I wouldn't do it again. The view wasn't that awesome and if you are wanting to see the show on the castle you would be much better off down close. Tink did fly the night we were there and that was nice. For the most part the desserts reminded me of an assortment of what you would get from the buffets - most were good, a few not.

That's true but you can only get in around 4 pm plus if you're there with a room package you've already paid for a days admission.

Interesting conversation. we are going to MVMCP and have now booked this for the same night. I keep on going back and forth but, our (as I'm sure everyone's) situation is a little bit different. It is my DD20 and myself. We plan to take as many pictures as possible at the party and perhaps do some rides etc. (if we squeeze them in )- we will have multiple days at the pars ( even though we know it will be very crowded the week before Christmas) and we are going to the party the last night of MVMCP. We did the dessert party 2 years ago ( yes it was cheaper then ) and loved it. Yes, we will have more time away from MVMCP however, wouldnt we spend the same time scouting out a place to view the fireworks and parade anyway??? I heard that even lines for QS food can get extremely lengthy with long waits so, this way, we get desserts and a place to sit. Still somewhat on the fence but..... my only question is , will we be able to see the parade? When we were there last, there was construction, walls and barriers so we could only see very minimal parts of the Electric Light Parade. Not sure now that all that mess is done if we would be able to see more?
