Will be in Disney World Feb.10-15, 2013 and wanted to see the fireworks and attend the dessert party. What are the crowds like during the week of Mardi Gras (Presidents Day will not be during the mardi gras holiday) Is it worth doing?

Mardi Gras doesn't really affect WDW crowds. For every family escaping MG by going to WDW, there is another going to MG instead of WDW. You should be fine.

We went in April last year (not a busy time) and we did the Dessert Party. The money was worth the chairs alone lol. It was only 2 of us so we got a table up front. No one stood in front of us so we had a great view. We definitely didn't eat our money's worth in desserts (we had a huge meal about 2 hours before), but they were good. And again, being able to sit on a chair is priceless!

If you don't have an ADR for the Dessert Party by now, chances are you won't get one. We weren't able to get one any day while we are there 12/3 thru 12/8 and we tried two weeks after the reservations opened up. And no luck since then for a party of 2!

Loved it!! So worth it and there is a great selection of food. January just opened up so you will probably have 30 more days until February opens up do you will be able to get a table!!! There is a wishes dessert thread on here that lets you know when booking opens up!! Booking for this event is different than restaurant reservations they only open up about 60 days in advance.

I think OP is going in February. I don't think they've opened those up yet. They just opened January last week.

Definitely subscribe to the thread for February. I have been checking for weeks for January and got a heads up thanks to the thread. It's definitely worth it just for the chair LOL.

Hey Guys!

What's the current price for the dessert party? i am thinking about booking it in Jan. for my Mom and I. Thanks =)

The adult price for January is $23.99 plus taxes. I'm not sure of the child rate...if there is one.

January just opened up last week, February hasn't opened up yet.

For more information on the party, check out the 3 links at the top of my signature.

Yet another question ...
So if I book a ressie for the dessert party at 7:00, but Wishes doesn't start until 8:00, Can we still stay for the fireworks? Or is there a time limit so more people can come? I don't want to pay if I can't stay for the fireworks. All the different times confuse me. ha-ha

Yes, if you have a reservation, you stay till fireworks. There is only one seating. Ignore the different seating times, they mean nothing. I have been to the dessert party 4 times. We arrive for seating about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes before fireworks. So when fireworks are at 9:00, we arrive for the party around 7:45-8:00, even if our "time" is 8:20. Then the table is ours till after fireworks.

Thanks. =)

As the PP mentioned, don't worry about the times... Show up about 1-1.5 hrs before the fireworks begin. All tables are pre-assigned with your names on them...you can be the first or the last there, and you'll get the same table no matter what. Many arrive on the early side to get first shot at the desserts, and have much of their "meal" completed by the start of the fireworks. Also, you will be told by the CM that when the fireworks begin, you are able to walk to the rail to watch the fireworks. Most seating areas there will not allow you to see them. You can see that from the pics on my thread.

Where do I find the place to RSVP this?

There are 2 options...

1. Book online through the dining pages...
Go to the Dining online page. On the left hand side, it will allow you to choose Restaurant, Dinner show or Dining Event.
Choose Dining Event. On the drop down screen, it will be the last one mentioned.

2. call 1-407-WDW-DINE (1-407-939-3463)
