Hello

Just wondering of anyone knows if there is Gluten free options at the wishes dessert party,I am just worried that it will be a lot of extra money just to be offered fruit and a packaged cookie

Thanks

My DS is also GF and loves the dessert party. We went in December 2013. We listed him as GF on the reservation and he got a custom platter of GF desserts. My DS is 25 and 6'2 and could only eat 1/2 of it! He loves eating at WDW as they are so great with allergies.

If i remember correctly nothing was packaged. He had brownies, sorbet, fruit, cake, cookies, tarts and some fudge type tart.

We had two experiences with GF at the dessert party.
The 1st was back in 2012 and DH got a huge plate filled with great GF items. A great sorbet, cookies, a flour-less chocolate cake etc. He was beyond happy
Second time was just last month and there was far less for him. He got a prepackage cookie, blackberries/raspberries, and one other item that wasn't prepackage (I'm blanking on it, but it was a baked item)

I will say the big difference *might* have been a communication issue. When they brought out his platter they first asked who it was at the table that had the nut allergy. DH doesn't have a nut allergy, only gluten. So I left wondering if I had checked the wrong box on the food allergy, did they possibly give him the wrong plate? I'm not sure, but when we corrected the manager and said that there wasn't a nut allergy, but he was GF he nodded and handed him the plate.

My oldest has a handful of food allergies and we are doing the Dessert Party again on our next trip because it was such a great experience for us. She isn't gluten but wheat so everything was gluten free, dairy and egg free. They brought out a huge platter of treats for her, it was awesome!

When we were there on July 3, I was given a plate with sorbet, berries, Enjoy life cookies, a spice cake (pre-packaged I believe), chocolate cake (pre-packaged), and gummy candies.

I have 10+ allergens. A woman a few tables over from me got the exact same plate. It is highly unlikely that we have the same allergens.

That being said, I enjoyed everything except the spice cake. The cake was tasteless but the icing was good. DH suggested that I make a cookie sandwich with the icing from the cake. That was yummy.

I thought it was worth the price. If nothing else, it was nice to not have to fight the crowds for a viewing spot.
