I know it should be fun! I spent some time hemming and hawing over the price, but I figure hey we're on vacation and its not like I am going to be dropping a lot of money on drinks for instance  so why not splurge on dessert!:rotfl:

Seriously! My DH is somewhat frugal and he was not very sold on the price the first time we went. Afterwards he said it was worth every penny. :goodvibes The "free" water alone is worth it in the summer!! Let alone not having to be smashed up against your 1,000 best friends to watch Wishes who smell like they've spent the day in the hot Florida sun :rotfl:

Replied to this last night but see it no where to be found lol we are going for this date as well. I have a first time Disney World-er from Australia so we are hoping like mad we don't miss this!!

My DF and his girls (5 and 7) are also first timers. DF's 40th birthday is 2 days before we fly out. I'm trying my best to make this trip as special as I can.

I hop this post ends up in the correct place.

YAY! We stayed CL TPV before and it was the BEST view we have ever had! They have the music for Wishes on your TV if you want to watch from your balcony, and I can't say there's anything better than falling asleep to the site of the colorfully lit castle right outside your window :goodvibes Have a GREAT time!!

Oh I got the chills after reading your post. I am super excited. I will be more excited to see the look on Michael's face when the CM comes to greet us at the car to take us upstairs.:lmao::cloud9:

My DH and I were just talking about this last night being smashed together. In 2010 we watched wishes for the first time, in MK standing in front of the castle. The CM just kept packing them in behind us and I was to the point of panic.:scared1: I am only 5' 4" and everyone towered over me and there was no air where I was. I told my DH that I couldn't breath. It was a very scary feeling. So we made our way out of the crowd, thanks to my DH and we politely explained the situation and asked the CM if we could stand behind everyone and he said yes just as long as we were in the imaginary line.:rotfl: So the WDP makes me very happy that we won't feel like sardines. Getting very excited.

Is there a place to go to see when the next month goes "live"? Or do you basically just have to keep checking?

Thanks

I think you just have to keep checking. Historically they were being released on the first Tuesday of 2 months prior to the month you wanted, however, June was released in late March (instead of early April!)

Well good luck to you as well then!! I hope we both get our tickets :D

I am sorry if this has already been asked but I was wondering if it is at all possible to watch the MSEP at 9 and still enjoy the benefits of the desert party for the 10 fireworks.

^ I was pretty sure someone asked and got an answer a few pages back.. correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they said it was hard to see the MSEP

Of course it's not like if you are standing on Main Street to watch the Electrical Parade, but we were able to see the parade seated from our table, enjoying the desserts.

I went back a the few pages and didn't come across it, when search function is up I'll do that.
I was wondering if we could stand in a good spot to see MSEP closest to WDp and then just dart over to the WDP. I know we wouldn't be there at the begining of the desert party but maybe we could fit both in.

britfish ... i wouldn't do it. The party starts and all the desserts are out. By the time the parade is over the desserts would be picked through and it would almost be time for magic memories and you. I don't think you will really enjoy the party as much.

I know I've mentioned this before, but it may have been a different thread. You can only see the very tops of the MSEP floats from a distance from the party. If you have seen the parade lots of times and only want to get a glimpse of it then you can see it fine from the party. If you want to really see it, I would plan to watch it a different night or not do the party if you have only one night in MK. Once, we tried to catch the parade on Main street and run back to the party after it passed. That was way too stressful and I won't do that again!

I know what you mean about getting scared and panicked in that crowd. I am tall, and even I feel that way. THat is why we do the Dessert paerty. Worth it for us!

ITA! Last year in June we staked out a place in front of the castle and by the time the parade/fireworks were due to start, we were being jostled beyond belief. People were stomping on my/our feet trying to get in front of us (adults, mind you - not children), and elbowing their way into our "space". We weren't taking up more than the area we were standing in, but several people came barging in just as the festivities were due to start and tried to push us out of the way &/or jostle in front of us... We had our 2 grandchildren with us and we were positioned at the front of the area of the 'imaginary line". Some people were so rude they even pushed our grandchildren back! Yikes!

Rather than risk an altercation or injury to the children, we decided to leave and head back to our resort.

Let me tell you that going against the sea of humanity trying to get to the castle was a nightmare! I will never again put myself or my family in that position! I can't imagine what would happen if there was ever a need for a mass exodus from MK at that time of night...

We have a reservation for the Dessert Party this summer. Hopefully this will alleviate some of the confusion/rudeness.

Looking forward to trying to see the FW up close and personal. (Watched from the Poly quite a few times - but grandchildren really want to be in the park for Wishes just once, at least.)

Wish us luck! And good luck to those of you trying to do the same
