Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread #3-book @ 180 Days Now!

I just booked for June. I don't love that I am paying now, but it looks like a great event! I think I will surprise my family

Question to those who have done the dessert party before....Should we have extra cash on hand for tipping? Is there anyone specific to tip? I'm just not sure of the set-up and what to expect. Thanks! :)

I just booked today 180 days out for late July, and the spiel includes information that tips are not included nor expected in the prepaid price! Also, the line to get in is for the event...you are not lined up by "time" so you can arrive whenever you want-your table is predetermined by your ressie time. The closer to 9:00 the better your table!

I have to check, I think the 18% was added to my prepayment because I have a party of 6. Thanks for the information. I will call to see if they can make an adjustment

Actually the time of the ADR has nothing to do with the table location. Table location is determined by the order in which the ADR is made in relation to how soon the ADR is made after bookings is available.

ADR times are just staggered ie 9:00, 9:10, 9:20 etc

A person booking at 6am on day 180 and choosing a party time of 9:20 will be closer to the front than someone booking on day 185 and choosing a party time of 9:00

Hope this helps clear up any confusion.

A gratuity is not included in the cost of the party nor is it expected

They are staggered to reflect the order of the reservation, and since most fill up as soon as availability is opened up it should correspond with table location. A random late cancellation could result in an "earlier' reservation, but the table wouldn't be as good as people who booked prior. We have been four times, and our 9:05 table was just about the best seat in the house, and our 9:20 was an inside table tucked well under the overhang. Every time the correlation was been consistent...is this similar or different to other people's experiences? I booked yesterday, 184 days out, and we have a 9:00 reservation for the first time. The CM thought we were the first people to book for that night. I don't think the assigned times are random, so it's a good idea to watch for your date to open up for the best table!

I don't wish to be argumentative but I have booked the party 4 times within 5-30 minutes of the Party opening up for booking and have always had my choice of times.

This has been discussed numerous times in the past and that is what I am baseing my posted information on

That's fine! I was curious...that's why I asked what other people's experiences were. If that is the case, we have had four lucky coincidences! I'm not complaining, that's for sure! The one time we weren't able to book on the day it opened was the only time we had an interior table, so I thought I might be able to connect the dots. It sounds like your experiences have been more varied. Fingers crossed-we have this planned for our 19th anniversary so hope to get lucky again!

Sounds like a perfect way to celebrate your anniversary. Sending pixiedust: for a table with an awesome view!

Oh, man. I guess I'm late to the game. I was under the assumption that the Dessert Party was still only offering reservations at the 60 day mark :( boo. I wish I had found this thread sooner. Is the website the best way to check for cancellations? I'm sure it's a long shot. We are heading to WDW end of April/first of May.

Thanks for your help!

Don't give up and keep checking the website! I've been able to book TWICE last minute due to cancellations. I got into the habit of leaving the webpage up while at work and pushing refresh from time to time. It can pay off. I was able to book a January reservation 10 days in advance! :thumbsup2

I believe the policy changed back on Oct 1 when the Party became bookable @ 180 Days.

I agree keep checking for a cancellation. Good Luck

So we were lucky enough to get tickets last year in early May and it was probably one of the best things we did while in Disney. We are hoping to get tickets again for early-mid November. Last year I booked by phone within 10 mins of it opening for our dates thanks to DISboards. My questions are (and forgive me since this thread is really long to go through) how are reservations being handled now? Online and/or by phone? When would they become available say for November 7th? I am staying off Disney property. Thank you in advance for any info.

Since you are off property, reservations can be made online (starting at 6am) or by phone (starting at 7am) exactly 180 days from the day you want to book.

Thank you!!!

So if you are staying on Disney property is there still the advantage of 180 +10 days like other dining reservations?

How did you book 184 days out? I thought we had to wait until 180 days out? Thanks.

It's like a normal ADR now. So 180+10 for onsite guests.

So at my 180 days from check-in I booked the Dessert party within my 10+ window, which was 185 days out I think.

So glad that I stumbled upon this thread! I have wanted to do this for several trips. I went on the site and :cool1:
I am assuming that a lot of people don't know that they can do this online and at 180 days, yet.
