Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread #3-book @ 180 Days Now!

I am getting anxiety waiting for my Nov 30 date. How do you get the 180 + 10?
You need to be staying at a Disney resort. You get to book ADR's 180 days out from your arrival date like everyone else, but you get to book up to 10 days ahead from your arrival date.

Does anybody know how the Illumnations dessert party compares? I was able to get reservations for that for Oct 1 for the 4 of us since it seems like getting Wishes ressies are going to be tough. Is the Illuminations as good?

Lucky you! I can't get either Illuminitions of this one for any day between 9/28-10/5 :(

One of my friends was there over Easter week.

Her reaction was.... ehhhh.

The lack of seats was an issue for her. She knew it going in, but didn't realize it would bother her as much at the end of a long day. And, while she likes a glass or two of wine as much as the next girl, there's a limit to how much a responsible parent will drink, so she didn't feel as though that was as big a draw. Her kids, who will eat absolutely anything (I mean it-- her 5 year old's favorite meal is Tilapia, they eat anything from asparagus to calamari) , didn't find many desserts they liked.

She said it was a pleasant enough evening, but definitely not something she would consider doing again.

So if I check in Nov 30, and my 180 day is June 3, I can technically book May 24? I am staying on a Disney resort.

180 days prior to November 30 is June 3rd, that is when you can make your ADRs.

As an onsite guest, on that day you can book up to 10 subsequent days of reservations - that is what 180+10 means. It doesn't mean that you can book 190 days prior to arrival.

Now I get it! Thanks!

I cancelled my Illuminations ressie for Nov. 8 and rebooked Wishes for Nov 8. The reviews are not good enough for me. I originally was going to hold out, and see if they improved the Illuminations desserts, since my trip is 5 months away... but after realizing that the Illuminations party was going to cost me $80 more than the Wishes party, it was a deal breaker. Who wants to pay $80 more to not have at least comparable dessert selections, not to mention seats to eat in..

. From experience ... It poured during wishes last year but we enjoyed the show covered at the Fireworks Dessert Party. That's another plus!

Question..........I just snagged a cancellation reservation for the Dessert Party for late October. I've been trying for a couple weeks to get it. I was surprised to get a 9pm reservation. I was expecting a 9:15pm or something similar since this was a cancelled reservation. Does this mean there's a chance we'd get a good table? It's my understanding that the closer your timeslot to 9pm the better your table. Previously, I've always booked within minutes of the the dates becoming available (thanks to this board!!) and I've always had tables up front with a 9pm reservation. Thoughts?

If anyone is interested I am seeing availability for 9/20 for Wishes. Mostly for a party of 2 but sometimes a search of up to a party of 7 returns a table. Just thought I'd throw it out there and hope it brings someone some magic! I'm personally checking multiple times a day for 9/24 with no luck.

Last year we were a party of 6 at one table along the railing. It was amazing! This year we are a party of 8...has anyone had reservations for the Wishes Fireworks Dessert for the same # of people? I'm curious if we will be seated at two tables. We are four adults and 4 children.

I was able to coordinate an ADR "swap" with another wonderful Diser about three weeks ago. We have an ADR for three for the May 28th dessert party. It's for 9:05 p.m. Since I booked so late in the game, it is pretty certain that we'll be seated near the back of the restaurant?

Does it matter where you're seated? I thought I read recently that all the tables had been moved away from the railing and everyone now stands to watch the fireworks anyway. Or was that only for a short time and they are now back to tables up against the railing?

I guess I didn't realize this....is this true the earlier your ressie the closer to the front you are? I thought it was based on how they can fit the tables. We have an 8:15 ressie is that good?

Personally we stood at railing to watch it wasn't that bad and there was more then enough room.... we did have a table that wasn't that far from the rail

Historically, the earlier you book (meaning prior to your trip when you made your ressie, not the time of your ressie) the closer to the front you are. People do stand at the railing, but it you have a front row seat you can stay at your table and still watch from your seat. The tables in the back are pretty crowded and smashed together. The front row feels a little less claustrophobic :)
