"Wishes Cruise"
I can imagine watching Illuminations must be beautiful from the lagoon but unfortunately we are not having luck getting or sharing an Illuminations cruise for August 24th, My DH's birthday, so instead I reserved a boat to go out on the lagoon during the WISHES FIREWORKS, has anyone done this? He loves fireworks and he loves boats. Can you see them well or possibly even hear the music? I am worried it won't be worth the money if we are too far away or too low? I would appreciate feedback from all the experienced DIS go'ers!!!!

We did this cruise when the FW nightly show was Fantasy in the Sky(I think). Anyways they take you out on a wonderful cruise - you usually get to see the waterpagent parade upclose and I remember you could see (although not like you are on Main st.) The FW just fine - and it is a wonderful time - I think we could faintly hear the music - but 2 very excited kids talking loudly - I probably am not your best bet for the sound aspect. The cruise is worth the money - you will totally enjoy it!

You are some distance away, but it is a different perspective.

I did the wishes cruise once and glad I did. I probably wont repeat anytime soon, but is was nice not having to fight crowds.

You'll be able to hear the music in the background coming from the park but it isn't very loud.

It is a fun and unique experience that was worth it for me (1 time).

We did the Wishes cruise in May to celebrate ds's 5th birthday. We had a wonderful time and a very personable captain. (We didn't actually book the birthday package, because we had dinner at 'Ohana just before the cruise and knew we wouldn't need food/drink).

I would definitely do the cruise again. The fireworks were beautiful. The night we were there, they were testing a portable receiver for the sound, so we heard everything perfectly. I don't know if they are still using those at all. Otherwise, I think it would be difficult to hear, and the soundtrack adds a lot to the show.
