Wishes cruise July 4th - Mistake???

I have a wishes cruise booked for July 4th and am afraid I have made a mistake. I keep reading that the music can't be heard out on the lagoon. Is this true?? Are we missing the whole magic of Wishes if we aren't in the park??? I would really hate to spend all of that $$$ for something we can't hear. We only visit every 6 years or so and may never be there on the 4th again.
Please give me some idea of exactly what I can expect and what we may be missing.

I have a Wishes Cruise booked for the 4th also and I am considering cancelling as well. I also recently just took a Wishes cruise and here is what I experienced.

The view of the fireworks is amazing! However, as has been reported, you can only hear the music faintly. I know that there is a boat that does have the music piped on to it, but my driver knew nothing about it and refused to even cruise the other boats to find out. In all honesty it was a bit frustrating not to hear the music. I called to complain and they said they are working on it. One other thing. The boats float freely while viewing the fireworks. If you have anyone on board that has motion sickness, this might bother them. One member of my party did and he was a bit uncomfortable.

As I said before, the view of the fireworks is amazing and it is wonderful not to have to beat the crowds. Also on the 4th the Cruises come with snacks and goodies which although expensive will make for a nice experience. I know that the fireworks are also bigger and better than usual on the 4th.

I am still undecided about what I am going to do. We do have a 48 hour window to decide and I just might wait until then!

Wow! The Grand One! I will be on a lowly pontoon boat. At the prices they are charging for the 4th even that is a stretch financially. I'll probably end up keeping the cruise.....if for nothing else than enjoying fireworks and champagne with friends.

I too have a 'wishes cruise' booked for the 4th. I was so excited when I got it. But then, the CM told me how much it was and I almost fainted. I was expecting the $120.00!(LOL) I am thinking about cancelling also. I just can't see paying that much when my DS's won't eat that much. I also have a PS for Narcoosses and I think I will just go there instead. I'm hoping that we can watch the fireworks from the pier. Anyway, I have just upgraded to AKL Concierge and I could use the extra $$ to help pay for that!

The 4th of July fireworks are the absolute best show of the year. They will be more spectacular than the regular nightly shows. Personally, I don't think they are best viewed from the lagoon, it's really worth the crowds to see them from inside the park. Just our opinion, maybe you should save your fireworks cruise for another night. The fireworks cruises are an awesome way to relax and see the show, but you're really missing something on the 4th by not being inside. Just MHO.

msr709 - I am not sure where the main info is about these cruises. Sorry.
I got my info from this forum. "ducklite" had put up a thread about having open seats. I guess the boat seats 12, and there are only 3 of them and 4 of us.

I think I will cancel though because the cost of it can pay for half of our week's food expense!!! OMG what was I thinking??? My kids would probably be upset if they couldn't hear it all, too. They wouldn't appreciate the specialness of the cruise.
