can you view spectromagic and wishes at the same place or do you have to move? also whats a good spot to watch thats not as crowded? what about the parade at mk in the day is frontierland a good place to watch? thanks for your help!

I think you should just wander aimlessly around the park and have a good time. But that's just me.

She's my wife, so I can make fun if I want. Hi Tassie.

We went on a weekday in December and watched both Spectro and Wishes from Main Street, right by the crosswalk which leads to Crystal Palace. It was a great spot as no one could bump us over with the Specto walkway next to us. When Spectro was over, we simply stood up and waited in the middle of Main Street, about 20 feet away from the Partners statue (don't worry, you're not blocking traffic, many people do it).
Frontierland is a good spot for the day parade since the parade starts there.

:rotfl:  :rotfl:

I haven't done it yet - but what I am going to do is try and watch Spectro over in Frontierland and then bolt out of the parks afterwards - I HATE crowds. Seems to me you need to move to somewhere in front ofthe castle but it is not absolutely necessary. I just wanted to laugh at your husband's remarks.

IMHO...the best place to watch spectromagic is the top platform of the train station, right up against the rail. You can look down on it and no one is in front of you...what a view. As far as wishes is concerned I have never seen it, but I am going in 10 days so I will let you know when I get back how the view from the train platform is for wishes.

Oh, I do want to add that we found our spot a good one because there are no buildings blocking the view of the fireworks for Wishes. It is much more spread out than FITS was.

I watched Spectro and Wishes from the same location, right by the castle, off to the right toward Tomorrowland. We stood on the fence by the little garden shrubbery. Spectro viewing was a little rough from back there, but Wishes was Awesome! The next night we watched Wishes from the train station. We were able to view Wishes all the way to the end and still make it to the ferry to catch the monorail to EPCOT to watch Illuminations. (20 minutes!)

Wishes is awesome! (Did I already say that?) Don't miss it!

We are just back from Disney - well not really we are still on vacation in Naples (it's really cold here!). Anyway, I was going to post a few things later but I wanted to add that we saw Wishes Sat and Sun night and spectro on Sun as well. The park was soooo crowded on Sun it was miserable but they has 2 spectros one at 8 and one at 10 which was awesome. We caught wishes at 9 from the middle of main street right in front of the castle at the end of the tommorrowland bridge. It was totally unbeilevable. I stood there tears streaming down my face - it was amazing. We had caught it the night before but from the side of the castle on the fantasyland bridge and it was just fireworks - nothing specatacular. IMO - it is all in where you veiw it from. On Sun we left after wishes and used our fastpasses to buzz and did the webway people mover - I know it's not called that anymore but it will always be to me. LOL! We then went over to fantasyland where DH took DS#1 on peter pan and I took DS#2 on it's a small world and then went to Frontierland where we had front row veiwing for spectromagic right where the floats make the turn into liberty square. It was so amazing. My kids were a little skiddish with the noise of it all (even with earplugs) but liked that the characters came right over to them and were so close! We really lucked out that sooo many people left after Wishes. I think most people were catching the 8:00 spectro. This trip having a 3 y.o and a 6 y.o. we did not think that spending any time staking out our spot and waiting around for spectro or wishes was that important to give up ride time for and it worked out great for us. If you want prime veiwing from the train station I would say then it would be worth the wait but we felt as if we had great veiws and still got to make great use of the time in between events. We really loved staying at the park until the last minute! We closed all the parks, every night we were there, in fact we were the "official" last guests in MGM our first night at Disney (we were afraid we might have missed the bus but thankfully it was there waiting for us)! I will post more on our vacation and voucher use a little later. It's tough being on vacation and not having my own computer. Sharing is so hard! Chris.

We just got back Sat. While we were there we saw the parade once from Frontierland. There is a nice spot directly across from the bathroom passageway to Adventureland. It is also right next to an ice cream cart which was a good treat. yum. We then moved to Mainstreet for Wishes. We stood about 1/4 of the way down from the end by the Castle. Our friend who is a Cast Member directed us to this great spot and we saw it from there twice. We were ahead of most of the crowds so we got out of there quickly and did not wait at all to get back to the Poly.
Also we saw Wishes from the Beach at the Poly in a hammock and from our balcony, both wonderful to see. Once you have heard the music on Mainstreet, you can follow along.

i hate to be annoying , but is there a certain side of the castle you have to be on for wishes? someone said from one perspective it looks like only fireworks and the other it was awesome.

dreamalittledream - were you able to hear the music on the beach at the Poly? I wonder from your post whether or not you could - I understand you can't from your room - but many have said they pipe the music in to the beach area.

No, we could not hear the music but we had seen it 2wice in the park so it seemed like we could follow along. I did read that they pipe it into the pool speakers though. The view was still unbelievable, the fireworks seemed so HUGE from that distance. It gave a different perspective.

Thank you - maybe that's the confusion that we read into these posts - you can hear it from the pool but not from the beach? I think we are going to watch from the Poly when we arrive at WDW that first night so that the next day I don't feel like I have to see it after Spectromagic and get to mooing with the crowd - I hate that feeling! I do want to hear the music and voices though.

Here is another suggestion on a place to watch it and hear the music. I forgot about it when I posted before.

The TTC plays the music and you have a great view from where the boat docks, behind the gate at the top of the ramp.

There is a break in the trees between the dock and the monorail station. I don't remember benches but it is a good view.

My DD wanted to get "home" so we did not watch it from there but saw the start of the show as we passsed by.
Enjoy!
