Wishes and Illuminations ADRs

Thankfully December hours were posted today. I'm trying to nail down our ADRs and which times I'm shooting for. How long before the start of these shows should I make the ADR for? For example, if Wishes is at 8pm should I make our ADR at California Grill for 7pm? If it matters we're planning on being at MK and Epcot the days we make our ADRs for these shows and we're staying at the Poly. Thanks

for Wishes, I think an hour before is good so you'll be nearing dessert when it begins.

for Illuminations, give yourself lots of time. Everytime we've tried to eat prior to it at an Epcot restaurant, we've missed it completely or ran wildly through the park in order to catch it. If we did a meal prior again, we'd probably do a 3 hour prior so we would not be rushed. There are plenty of things we can do between if we have time but if you miss it, you miss it.

We did a 2 hour window last trip and almost missed the entire thing because the restaurant was running behind by 45 minutes.

If I remember correctly, you can see Illuminations from Garden Grill. So I'm trying to schedule our ADRs so that we will be nearing dinner by the time of the show.

No, you can't see it from GG. GG is inside the Land pavillion in Future World and has no windows (except into the Land ride).

You can view it at Rose and Crown IF you can get a patio seat which is a hot commodity =)

I forgot to add, so since Illuminations is at 9:30pm, would a 7pm ADR at GG give us enough time to make it there?

THat should be plenty of time. And I also agree that for Wishes, about an hour ahead of time would be good. That's what we always do at CG.
