We leave this evening for the World with my new D40 and 18-55, 55-200 lenses!! We will be staying for a week, so hopefully when we get back I will have some great shots to share!! I have one shot to set up before we leave, the kids don't know we are going yet. I plan to have the camera setup and ready to go and get "the shot" with the wireless remote. I will post that first when we get back. Anyone else going this week?

Awesome! Enjoy! How in the world were you able to keep it from the kids? I'd never be able to do it. Have fun with the new camera:)

Have a great time, and bring loads of lovely pics!

It was SO not easy. I slipped up this morning of all times and said something about vacation next week. Luckily the 7 year old was the only kid there and she didnt catch on to the slip. I am going to pick up Older daughter today at 1:45, hopefully getting all of us home at the same time to break it to them and get the pic that will set the theme for the week. On a side note, we know several other families that are going next week as well, so it should be a really great time.

:woohoo: :cool1: :cool1: Woohoo ... have a great time!!! Will be looking forward to seeing those shots as I am a D40 user too!!:cool1: :cool1: :woohoo:

We just got back Tuesday and I already wish we were going again. I also took my new DSLR and kept the trip secret from DD6 for two whole months! It was not easy. I almost let it slip a couple of times.

I set the video camera up for when she came down last Wed. morning and I told her she wasn't going to school that day but to Disney! It was priceless!

Have a great time!

I agree about it not being easy to keep it from the kids. We surprised our kids 10 days before last Christmas for our trip to DL. It was on a Wednesday when they came home from school. We already had the car loaded with their luggage where it couldn't be seen. We told them to get some things together and that we were going out to eat early. My oldest was worried something was wrong. On our way to the airport, they all 3 fell asleep during the 45 minute drive. They awoke as we were parking at the terminal garage. The look on their faces was classic. We still didn't tell them where we were flying off to though. At LAX, we had a limo driver holding our name up at baggage claim. For some reason, they still hadn't figured it out and were so excited about the limo, they didn't care! I think my oldest probably did but just didn't let on. We managed to keep it from them for about another hour until they saw the road sign, Disney Way. That was a moment I wish we could relive over and over. :goodvibes

Have a great trip!

Ok, sorry no real pics posted, I am leaving for San Diego today, after getting back at 1030 pm Friday night. Overall I wasn't impressed with my pics, but here are the one where we told them we were leaving.

This is where we set them down to let them know something was happening.

This is where we told them we were going to Disney. At this point they thought we meant at Christmas.
