Wish Trippers...Unite!! Volume One

Fantasmic is a fireworks and stunt show starring none other than Mickey Mouse. It features Mickey as traditional Mickey, Brave Little Tailor, Steamboat Willie, and Sorcerer Mickey. It focuses on the power of imagination and Mickey's dreams. There are water screens that they project animated clips onto, several stunt scenes featuring several different characters, the princesses are in it, there's really something for everyone. The villains take over Mickey's dreams and turn them into nightmares, and Mickey must battle the villains. There is fire, fireworks, and all kinds of neat pyrotechnics. For the first or only show of the day it's best to get there an hour ahead of time, although even half an hour before wil get you decent seats. If you're there on a two show night, the second show is rarely filled up so you don't have to sit as early.

Tony's is a great little Italian Restaurant. It is filled with Lady and the Tramp decor and even has their "initials" inside a heart on the sidewalk outside of it. We ate there once and really enjoyed it.

Denise,

I have to take Nathan to therapy now but later today I will post the web sites where I found all the info. I even printed off "fact sheets" all about their favorite characters. I have been following your TR and think your grandchildren are just beautiful. I will pray for you granddaughter Karlyn. I am watching to see what the fairy godmothers sent to Karlyn and her family. It is just an overwhelming feeling of gratitude that we have. It is hard to explain and put into words. :wizard:

Robin

Thanks so much, I think it will be a wonderful surprise to give to everyone the morning we leave. I really think the journal pages are a great idea. Lindsey, Karlyn's mom, was saying last night that she needed to find some journal pages for keeping track of this marvelous adventure. I am so bad at keeping secrets, this will be a test to see if I can do it. I am excited to see what comes for your family as well.

Here is a page of links to journal pages, homework pages, puzzles, character finds, etc. http://www.themouseforless.com/downloads/kidsdownloads.shtml

And here's a little something for the adults, who, after all, are only tall children ;-) http://www.themouseforless.com/downloads/tripdownloads.shtml

BTW, This is the same website that has a Scrapbook making project for Give Kids the World. Their goal is to provide 100 premade scrapbooks (that's one week, for each villa since there are 100 villas) for wish families to put their photos in.

Wow, thanks so much!

Here are some of the web sites I found to make activity folders for my kids.

http://familyfun.go.com/arts-and-crafts/season/feature/activity-center-parents/
go to printables and then you can click on games, puzzles and coloring pages.

http://disney.go.com/magicartist/coloring/
click on coloring pages and print off pages or go to fun and games and click on a character and there are all different things that can be printed off.

http://disney.go.com/magicartist/index.html
go to characters and then click on a certain character and you can get a mini bio on each of them :)

http://coloringbookfun.com/
good for coloring pages

http://disney.go.com/fairies/
go to activities and games and then click on printables and you can find some cute thing for little girls. If you click on games, you will find the cutest airport and car games. I made a fortune teller for my two youngest.

I also went to http://puzzlemaker.discoveryeducation.com/ and made me own word search sheets, such as Disney Girls, Disney Boys, Countries in Epcot, Rides in MK or Epcot or HS....you get the picture

I hope this helps

Thanks Robin, this is great. I know what I will be doing on my day off this Friday

Thanks also Sally. This should be great.

Those journal pages are awesome How do I print out copies of them?
One way to print is to right click on each actual page you are interested in, then "Save Picture As". Then go to your photo printing wizard and choose "full page" to indicate the size you want. Those pages are COOL!!

What kinds of movies do they show at GKTW? We are arriving on a Sunday afternoon and I thought the kids might enjoy going to a movie that afternoon. I assume they are all family oriented but are they current movies or old movies?

Wow you guys have been busy..then again I've been mia for a while! :headache: I miss being here!!! Things have been major crazy around here. Our landlord changed the way he listed the house, so now there has been interest and three showings. So that has led us to looking for houses. DH and I spent the last two nights looking at houses. :sad2: Throw in a garage sale last weekend, our town's annual fest this weekend with family coming for that...it has been nuts!!!

If I don't get back before you leave....Heather and Amy....have a wonderful time on your trips!!!!! :cool1:

Eventually I will get caught up on all of your guys' tr's....I promise.....now if life would just settle down a little bit. :sad2: :headache: :goodvibes

I have heard that the fantasmic show in HS is great but I hear that there is a long wait to get a good spot. Is it a sit down show or do you stand for it? Does the GAC card help with this (possible better spot)? It the meal package a good way to go for this? Mama Melrose looks like it has good food. A bit expensive though. Let me know what you think please
Thanks
Robin

Robin, there's a post of mine (I believe on the previous page) that describes Fantasmic, what it's like, and the seating arrangements. Read that then ask me if you have additional questions.

As far as the GAC, unless your child is visually or hearing impaired and must sit in the front, the GAC will not help you. Once the theatre is full, it's full. The dining package may be the way to go, I personally don't like where the seats are, when we did it we sat somewhere else, but they keep them reserved for you so you know you will get in. They will tell you to get there about half an hour early or so. As for Mama Melrose, I love that restaurant! I think you will be happy there.

You are all so great, helping each other out and sharing what you have learned. I am so happy to see this.

I really need to say to Amy, "You have learned well young Jedi." You are doing so much to help and keep this thread going. We DO expect you to keep this up after you get back.

Blessings on all you Wish Trippers and Officianados.

Bill

Time for me to start getting organized for my next trip to the world at the end of August.

Wish Families - past, present and future, If you would like your kids to receive post cards from the world, please pm me - at least their name and snail addy, but also helpful would be age/gender if it's not obvious/favorite character. I'll do my best to find something appropriate!

Hello everyone! We are heading off for some fun together. First, we head up north to pick Mark up from overnight camp. It sounds like he's been having a good time - less homesick than last year, which is great. After that we head to a family resort on a beautiful lake, and from there to enjoy a long cottage weekend with friends - near Lake Placid.

All the best to you all, and special pixie dust to those ehading off on trips soon!

Talk to you when we get back!

Have a fun time away from the ordinary. I hope the weather is wonderful for your trip. Glad Mark had a good time at camp. My oldest grandson has been at scout camp this week and we have really missed him.

I have some questions about transportation between parks. If we parked at AK one morning, how would we get to DHS that afternoon? How horrible would it be getting back to our vehicle at AK after Fantasmic?

If we were to do EPCOT one morning, how would we get to MK that afternoon? I've heard it's horrible getting out of MK after the fireworks, correct? Is there anything to do while the crowds dissolve? Are shops open?

Here's another question: What is Liberty Tree Tavern like? Is it worth it? How does it compare to other character dining? I posted this on my trip report, but I am so excited that we got ressies at CRT for next Wednesday for lunch and LTT for dinner on Sunday, our last day before we fly home. I was just wondering if we'll still want to do LTT by the end of the week. (Right now I'm thinking that we will!)
