Tonight is my first performance with my high school's marching band. (I'm in color guard, the ones with the flags FYI.) Actually, we did a parade at Kennywood and a little practice performance type thing for the parents at band camp. Tonight is our first football game though!!! :cool1: I am soooo excited! I can't wait. I hope tonight goes well. I am not too sure how well it will go though because the last two practices weren't too good (and that's being nice). So send our band a bit of pixie dust :wizard: for tonight, please!

Good luck!!! Where in Pittsburgh are you from? My best friend was the captain of the North Hills flag line many moons ago. :)

Thanks all!!
phisigprincess: That's awesome! I am 20-30 minutes outside of Pittsburgh.

I have one more thing to ask. Will everyone please cross your fingers and hope that it doesn't rain, please. Trying to toss a wet flag/pole is not fun, especially since the flag is heavy and sticking to your legs, face, arms, etc. Thanks again everyone!

That sounds awful and challanging...

Good thoughts for a dry flag coming your way!!!!! :wave2:

Just wanted to let y'all know that it went O.K. It rained while we practiced before the game. It stopped for the whole 1st and most of the 2nd quaters. When there were about 4 minutes left of the 2nd quarter, we went to practice. It started to sprinkle a bit. We went down onto the track around the field to wait. For half time to start and it started raining harder. We went to line up about a minute before we went out on the field and it stopeed raining! The flags weren't too bad, poles were wet, but I just wiped it off with my hand. The show went well for the color guard. I messed up once for a little bit (it was really bad, but the rest of it was good). The band was bad. They just messed the whole thing up. But it was our first performance, so over all I think we did fairly well. When we got back to the bleachers, we had our rain jackets on them, so they werent too wet, luckily. Thanks everyone for the good luck wishes! I will be needing them every Friday now. LOL.

Oh, and by the way, our team won. The score was 29 to 16.
